Yey, more bugs

  • ...so I was in a random dungeon run with instance matching today, we wiped at second boss, teleported out, nobody of us could re-enter, everyone got the same error "You exceeded the maximum number of entries for today".

As if the game wasn't bugged enough already.

  • Because I don't believe reporting bugs ever done anything here.

    Unless it's something like ultra-mega-serious.

  • I don't really have any faith left in this publisher or the company behind it.

Do you known what they told me last time I reported a bug with the ticket system? "That's intended", just like the meme"It's not a bug, it's a feature".

  • This thread makes me wonder if there are any mods actively moderating the forum to close spam or move threads like this to appropriate sections, lol. Maybe you just wanted to point out their good work instead of reporting a bug?

Hurhurhur, you will be amazied how many f2p mmoprg companies do that. Some of em, just use an automated reply message for anything no matter what it is lol. You tell em that you found a game breaking bug that is present in the game since 2 years ago, that everybody knows about it, and they could tell you "thanks for reporting a new bug, we will look into it", and it will mean absolutely nothing. It is how it is, unfortunately, in this world, generally speaking.

The big difference between good companies and poor ones are preciselty this (wish Tera was in the good side... sadly, it isnt). The way they treat their customers and the way they actually care about bugs in the game. Nowadays there are basically NO good companies running mmorpgs out there anymore lol.

Plus publisher companies, like Gameforge, have the excuse of not being the direct producer or whatever game they publish, so they can easily shrug off any responsibility while enjoying customer's money, it's a win-win situation for them.

You know, if you open your eyes, there might be a way out of your misery. Just try!

    Ultima | Lv70 Priest | ILv 498 | Yurian | Main
    Aeq | Lv70 Archer | ILv 466 | Yurian | Ex-Main
    Quest | Lv70 Zerk | ILv 470
    | Yurian | what a joke

    Game Over.

  • As a QA specialist I'd like to jump in on that:

Some bugs are very hard to reproduce because they only show up when the stars align in a rare pattern basically. The bug may be known, but not the cause of it. And it probably never will be known, because often in companies basic code will never be touched. Why? Even if the devs got an idea of what's going on in these special and very rare cases (which won't be the case because QA won't be able to reproduce the bug) they won't change anything in the very basic code because the chance of breaking anything which will result in a worse customer experience is way higher than fixing the actual problem.

So yeah, basically, you gotta suck it up and live with it. Bugs which can not be reproduced consistently are the nightmare of each software company ^^
But as long as it occurs so negligibly rare devs won't be able to do something about this.

  • And yet, as a coder since 20 years ago, i can tell you that everything can be fixed, if you put enough efforts, and of course skilled programmers on the task lol. We all know why many things arent fixed. Time/Effort/Profit ratio. Its as simple as that. Its far cheaper to just ignore bugs and focus on monetizable content. This happens everywhere. If a company have enough incomes to consider they are being successful, they dont need to invest on fixing anything or waste other resources in other thigns, as long as profits are there. Again, thats the main difference between a good company and a bad one. The good company will try to balance both things. The bad one, wont even think on it.

Replace "devs" with "incompetent devs" and you have a point indeed.

Or they just outsource trash "devs" from crappy countries, low wage but full of bugs. You get what you pay for. Not like these companies even know what unit tests are.

  • With the recent "issues" with the latest Windows october update causing files deletion, I'm convinced more and more that "quality" is becoming the bottom priority of companies nowadays.
