Years later, still the same issue.

    Just tried it as well from someone else's files and it doesn't work, getting the "current version unknown", once I put the original files back, it starts up and stuck at loading screen again (what a surprise)
    Would be nice if @Athena could try and forward the issue so it could be addressed..

    It looks like we're forced to try custom fixes since the so called gaming company is unable to provide even just a simple answer about the issue. Not to mention it's the week end and since the wankers from the support aren't working there is even less chances of getting some """(((<<<help>>>)))"""

I think it's truly pathetic that people just can't chill a little bit and play some game on a week end, not to mention that there is Civil Unrest tomorrow and i might miss it just because you guys can't do your job.

    Tried to delete files showed on forums , tried to reinstalled 2 times, nothing worked.


    Reinstalled worked 1 times but the message appeared again after reboot...

    I don't know what are you expecting from Forum Moderators to do about "technical issues" which probably only the developers themselves can fix :elin18:
    Mods can't even provide "custom fixes" because it might go against ToS, all people can do is contact technical support and (hopefully) fix the issue or well use custom fixes mentioned above


    Must be pretty annoying to get this launcher bugs :elin19: luckily I didn't have any problems yet, maybe Steam launcher is the way to go? :elin27:

    I'm well aware that FORUM MODS can't correct the launcher, all i'm asking is that they pay attention to what seems to be an issue encountered by many players so they can FORWARD it to the people in charge. Afaik we don't have a direct way to contact the people in charge of the launcher, so the forum is my only shot. Support could also be an option, but heh.


    I used few of the custom fixes that people posted on this thread, a couple of others that people gave me trough Discord and even tried to get the Steam launcher, none of these worked. And i made the conclusion that i shouldn't have to look for fixes during ages by myself, because the problem is NOT coming from my side. So people just need to start doing their job and fix what they're supposed to take care of.


    Yesterday i was "locked" in game, because even after a fresh install the launcher popped a new "current version unknown" error while i was playing, which means that IF i actually crashed or went offline i wouldn't have been able to reconnect and i would have need to do YET AGAIN a fresh installation.

    Well i can understand that ure anygry/dissapointed or whatever u are.. But at least i think that YOU are the guy who knows how things are going on here when u need help..
    Mods warn, ban, forward, scracth their balls, there is no actual help never and all u get its "we forwarded the issue"..
    Now there is not even that.. Enjoy TERA mate, u know it very well :D

    There is a topic about "unknown version" issue in french section too. Many people are concerned. In my own experience and with the help of people with the same problem, in order to resolve this issue, you have to restart your launcher or computer again and again. Sometimes you just wait 10minutes and it comes back to normal.


    The problem seems to be totally related to GF servers side.


    Does someone can post his TERA-Launcher.txt file (Launcher: Basic Settings > Files, restart your launcher, then TERA\ folder) when the problem appears ?

    Tera on Steam works just fine, it's the standalone installation that is troublesome. Support doesn't seem to be able to do much about it, been talking to them back and forth, sending a bunch of reports and diagnostics but no solution works so far.
    Despite replacing the 3 files as shown above, the game version always gets to 71.03.02 instead of 72.03.02 for reason that I am unaware of.

    Next time please, before making a thread, post it in the correct section, so we can check it properly.


    Also, add a title which describes the issue in a short but good way in order to make us understand it.

    You obviously didnt play other mmorpgs.     And as i said, if the issue is something common and suffered by many people, sure, should be a priority. But i tell you again, that most mmorpgs , companies behind em dont really care about some users having serious problems to load the game. Because they usually dont care at all about quality control and balance between bugfixing and developing content. They put 90% of their efforts developing monetizable content and almost ignoring everything else. And happens in 90% of this free to play industry. Some companies much much worst than others (i could name a few), but again, Tera is far more polished than most mmorpgs out there, by a mile.
