MSI GT70 2OC - GeForce 770M Screen Tearing

  • Hello guys,

Recently I'e got a problem since yesterday with my 5 years neetbook. Everything worked fine,I've never had a problem with this neetbook. Yesterday I've updated Nvidia Game Ready Driver from 391.01 (26.02) to newest 391.35 (27.03). And everything started...

In games like TERA or Overwatch, all graphic details are set to 0/low/the worst. E.G. In TERA i have autodeteck details button, which on 6-scale always set my graphic details to 4/5. Now its detecting only 0. When i try to change it even a little, to 1, or in other games when I try to change from low settings to little higher, Ive started to have massive screen tearing. Was trying to record a film in this game to show this screen tearing but in recorded movies everything looks ok...

Already formatted my computer 3 times, updated all drivers and was trying to install different versions on Nvidia ready drivers, all time I have the same issue with screen tearing and my games cannot detect higher graphic settings than the lowest ones. I've run disc and CPU diagnosis tools and this components are ok. In Nvidia control panel i have only 3D settings anel where i set all programs to use Nvidia graphic card rather than intel hd graphics. Also set triple buffering and vsync mode, its still the same.

Im running out of oprions, do you know what could happen? Everything started when I installed newest nvidia drivers. But now, even the older ones doesn't allow me to play on typical setting i had. And this massive screen tearing...

I would like to add that when i click play on TERA launcher and game started, I have long white screen like 15 seconds, the the game play...

  • Is it possible your card is malfunctioning? Have you cleaned the dust from your laptop?
    What's your performance index number?
What is your Windows? If you reinstall everything and then get the previous gpu driver, it should be like before. If it's not, then the problem is not with the driver.

  • Hi, week ago Ive opened neetbook and blow some dust with hairdryer (cold wind). Dont know any diagnosis tool for graphic card but when Im checking on task sheduler, its shows that 700M is working.
Performance index number you mean TERA graphic? Its 0. Was 4/5.
Win 10 Pro x64, 3 times Ive formatted PC with different Nvidia drivers, Ive checked and in PhysX settings, there is neetbook screen connected to the integrated Intel HD graphic 4600 card. And I cannot change that.
