Slayer Crit rate.

  • Hey guys, i've started to play slayer. And it feels like going full crit i loose lots of dmg, Are ppl still going full crit rn or you put some power jewel on. and what crit rate should i have?

  • You can run power earrings, but that only works with mystic (and preferably lamb bulgogi). On average you'll have ~63% crit. 65% crit seems to be the sweetspot you wanna reach. If most of your runs go over that, you probably have too much crit.
However, having a lot of crit is not bad. If you're not planning to score or tryhard with lamb bulgogi, going full crit is an easy way to guarantee decent dps ( not concidering you're playing a slayer ofc :^) )

  • Go full crit acc, 4 power circlet and switch to 4 power jewel with mystic and 4 keen with priest. If you are below 60% use keen above 70% powerful.

I hit +298 cf with 2 power 2 keen crystals and I'll get +4 cf when I upgrade my necklace and etch II. I noticed that having more power doesn't affect slayer much so I went full crit at least I have decent dps at 439.
If you are doing 431 or below just switch to power earrings.

  • ... I noticed that having more power doesn't affect slayer much ...

    Why would you say this?
This is certainly not anymore or less true than for any other class.
Measuring the effect of power vs the effect of crit is challenging at best and hardly possible at worst.
There is an interesting post by Bernkastell. If you google his name and slayer you should find it.
Its an outdated guide but what is described within can still help to understand the relation of crit and power.

A general rule of thumb is 1 power = 2 crit. This is not a "its always true truth".
Certain skills in this game will simply "max out" their crit rate at some point.
Ask lancers about Wallop as an example.
Interestingly enough Slayer has a few of these skills... not with as low a crit cap as wallop mind you.
But I've seen OP HT Slayers who have critted their HT 80% running 350+ crit, and i really doubt that OP HT wasn't critting every hit at that point... just HT wasn't.
I don't have hard numbers on where the crit cap for OP HT is atm. But if you've reached it you will also have long reached the (100%) crit cap for MS.
And MS will still be your most contributing skill.
(... most of the time if you get a lot of HT resets it may over take it ... but those are always without OP).
So once MS has 100% crit rate pumping more crit will simply end up doing less for you than before and 1 power = 2 crit stops being true since your most contributing skill no longer gains anything from it.
Now I haven't actually seen OP HT max and its also really hard to actually figure out when it does since you will be doing a whole lot of HTs without OP which will falsify if you are getting 100% crit rate ... unless you are somehow able to just remember if every OP HT critted or not. But since OP HT will max at a different point than HT once OP HT maxes and you keep adding more crit instead of power you get the same effect ... crit starts being worth less per point than before.

So power might feel like it isn't doing much. But that certainly isn't true. Crit without Power will not get very good DPS results.

  • 1. Stop putting cf once ms stops being white. ( one day...)
    2. With new patch eviscerate must crit.
    3. OH is pretty much half of ms. It is better to crit OH then to increase power of ms since OH will get boost with awekening as well.
    4. At 439 damage is almost about halved compared to 431. But crit rate isn't halved. You will have a bit lower crit rate.
I use shinrameter to test damage and after combat I check my OH hits. OH is my 2nd dps. HT simply doesn't proc as often as OH. HT is around 4-5th around WW, never 2-3rd.
HT is useless now thanks to new slayer passive I am thinking of taking of 12 glyph points and using them somewhere else. HT is still good as starting skill but WW simply overshadows it now.
