[Archer] [PvP] trap can be avoided by jump

  • Hello,

Why when people jump on trap; trap have no effect ?

no stunt, no slow, no damage ...

How we can kill people if skill not work as intended !

  • And its intended trap are useless against valk, they can trigger them without taking effect ?

and all other class can just jump on trap to dont take effect ?

why when i jump on lockon stunt from slayer, warrior, valk, lancer, sorc, i get K/D, imo, sleep ?

Edited 2 times, last by benox ().

  • You can jump and get sleeped by Mystic, Sorc !
You can jump and get immo by slayer, war !
You can jump and get stunt by Valk, Brawler !

  • Jumping only gets you a KD if the skill does damage or an actual "hit". Sleep doesn't.

And its intended trap are useless against valk, they can trigger them without taking effect ?

It's like sorc's stoneskin, not an iframe. Disadvantage is they can get plagued or whatever but ofc not like I expect you to know what plague even is.

Since you put a space before exclamation/quotation marks I know explaining anything ends up being pointless, but at least now others will know.

  • What is the relationship with my exclamation point and my question ?

I just ask why both archer stunt trap dont stunt when you jump on it ?

Why trap have no effect against valk when they trigger it ?
    -slow trap= no slow
    -stunt trap= no stunt
    -incendiary trap= no dmg
Ho my trap have no effect & disappear , Ho i'm dead...

You dont give me any explanation. its just like this and shut up.

Yeah ez pz duel/kill an archer, just jump & rush

  • Meh, it's kinda like people jumping to avoid backstab. Something that should have been "fixed" since a while, but ya know... Too hard for Bluehole to get involved on their game.

  • As already mentioned if you jump and you recieve damage from any source you will KD, therefor negate the stun effect.
This was always intended as feature of the games that knockdowns will break your stun.

So ofcourse player that know the class they fight against have a feeling about their cds and can predict when to jump to get knocked down instead of stuned, might it be from the damage of the stun itself or a previous attack.

Random jumping wouldn't get anyone anywhere against an experienced player, since after you knocked him down the second time the fight is in your hand.

Then again back in the day when there only really were the options to sleep, stun or knockdown a target, it was 100% intentional that knockdowns will break a stun and damage will break a sleep, to keep things balanced.

In 1v1 pvp you have to know the class you fight against as well as your own to succeed, mass PvP would be another topic for its own.

  • Just gonna drop this piece of info here:

Valk is coded wrongly or something because if you jump its attacks you don't get kd even if you get damaged.

Auto attack still staggers, bloodflower still stuns... I don't remember how the other stun interacts...

Every hit that is a knockdown, still knocks you down... every other hit is a stagger.

When backstab was a stagger you got staggered by it, now that it's changed I dunno.

    Dreamslash is a kd.

  • What is the relationship with my exclamation point and my question ?

It has everything to do as you continue to show that without a doubt, despite people answering your questions... basically to put it nicely, acting like an airhead.

And yes I already told you, it's like sorc's stoneskin. I'm not sure what else do you want? That's how valk's skill is and it has nothing to do with your stupid archer. If you want to ask WHY it is this way, then go ask BHS since they designed it this way, on purpose. So, not a bug and nothing to do with your trap, it's a valk thing (and not only for traps).

Mican: A mod that actually knows how PvP works at the very least, I'm impressed. Hope you become a full mod.

  • it's not an iframe tho in regard of backstep and teleport jaunt. They are two different class of invulnerability.
I remember things like Rakelith Sweep or Darkan swings not working with Barrier, but instead with standard backstep/Jaunt. and ofc there are mechanics that you can tank with barrier but not with backsteps

  • It works as a regular iframe, anything you can iframe with backstep you can with either do with one of those. Plus an addition of certain mechanics which for some reason kept this way.

For example you can still iframe darkan bomb with warp but not any other iframe, but on the other hand you can also warp the swipe while you couldn't before because it was just absorbing damage not avoiding it.

I don't recall any other mechanic being able to warp but not backstep post changes.

  • RMHM is soon to be open again. feel free to check if you tank the 340° Swipe with barrier ^^ cause i couldn't.

but yeah, i dont trust my two sets of invulnerability. I have to check for each boss which ones i can dodge with them. and this keeps changing for some reason... BHS is not very consistend.
(Darkan SCEM swipes and Darkan VSHM) werent the same for example (but that one might also be GF)

atm, you can negate Queen insufficient as well with barrier. you can, it usually wont help your party tho.

afaik Ninja Smoke Bomb and Gunner Recall are coded the same as Warp Barrier and Stoneskin. (Retribution?)

  • warp

Theres a video of a sorcerer doing the warp.

True though that I check what I can warp or not but I'm certainly sure it comes to old/new bosses since it's BHS and I'm pretty sure they just recycle most of the codes that's why warp still works on old bosses/mechanics, but since it's an iframe after changes it doesn't work anymore in any new instance.

About SCEM I think they made it this way to not be able to avoid it.

Didn't play any of those in PvE so I can't tell more than what I have seen.

  • might have mixed up some things, but surely the puddles after that didnt work, while dodging them did. Thanks for the vid. i just remember RMHm being VERY iffy with warp barrier

i think for PvP its mostly the same, right?
