Halloween contest - Tricks, treats and ROCCAT mouse!

The nights are getting longer and colder and the favorite season of monsters and ghosts is getting close. But don’t be afraid, because it’s Halloween fun time! Take part in our Halloween events to get the creepiest costumes and try to win a ROCCAT® NYTH – MODULAR MMO GAMING MOUSE, some TERA goodies and a ghost pet!

For the upcoming Halloween, we've prepared some codes for you containing different sets of items you can wear. Use these costumes and accessories to get a spooky look and take a terrifying screenshot that induces nightmares!

By participating in this contest, you can win a beautiful ROCCAT® NYTH – MODULAR MMO GAMING MOUSE, a ghost pet (loot), but also our new official TERA posters and stickers! So get ready to show off your “spooktacular” characters and please check out the rules, prizes and information below.

Codes:
We’re giving you 4 different bundles with temporary Halloween costumes and accessories (3 days) that you can use for the contest, or simply to enjoy Halloween! Here are the codes and preview of items that you can pick:

To redeem these bundles, here is how it works:

• Log into your TERA account on https://account.tera.gameforge.com/.
• Click "Enter Code" and insert your free code.
• The items will be sent to your in-game item claim where you can collect them with your character.
• Don't wait too long – the code is only redeemable until 06.11.2016.

Each code is usable only once per account (with one character)

Prices:

The top 10 will be rewarded with a ghost loot pet. Furthermore, the top 3 winners chosen by forum users will win our new TERA poster and stickers!
Finally, if you’re selected as the Grand prize winner, you will win a ROCCAT® NYTH – MODULAR MMO GAMING MOUSE in addition to all other prizes that have been mentioned already!

How to participate:

• Use the code to get the bundle you want (cf. Codes)
• Wear your Halloween outfit and take a nice screenshot from the game
• Send your screenshot via email with the title “Halloween 2016” before Tuesday November, 1st 2016 23:59 CET to screenshots@tera-europe.com
• Don't forget to include your character's name and server when submitting your creation.
• Remember to use Control + Z to remove your interface for a better looking screenshot!

How the winners will be picked:

The TERA Team will pick the top 10 screenshots and then, on Wednesday, November 2nd 2016, a forum poll will be initiated, allowing all forum-users to vote for their favorite Screenshot!

The voting option will remain open until Sunday, November 6th 2016 23:55 CET.

The winners will be announced on Monday, November 7th 2016 during the day and will also be contacted via email in order to provide us a valid address for the delivery of the prizes.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The following conditions govern the course of TERA “Halloween contest” Contest (‘contest’) as organised by Gameforge 4D GmbH, Albert-Nestler-Straße 8, 76131 Karlsruhe, Germany (‘Gameforge’).

1. Participation Period
The contest starts on 25/10/2016. The ‘deadline’ for entries is 01/11/2016 23:59 CET.

2. No Entry Fees
Participation in the contest is free and is not bound to the purchase of any goods or the subscription to a fee-based service.

3. Eligibility
(1) All users (‘user’) of full age with a personal, active account (‘account’) for TERA (‘game’), the online game offered by Gameforge, are eligible to enter.
(2) Employees of Gameforge or companies associated with Gameforge, or spouses and relatives thereof, are not eligible to participate.

4. Participants
A ‘participant’ is every eligible user (‘user’) who submits an email (‘submission’) to screenshots@tera-europe.com with the subject line ‘Halloween 2016’ before the deadline, in accordance with the following conditions:
a) The submission must contain a screenshot of the game which exclusively displays the participant’s character along with characters of other users who have agreed to the submission (‘submitted combination’) in front of any background.
b) Neither personal details of any kind, the interface nor contents not related to the game may be visible on the screenshot.
c) Screenshots may be submitted in .jpg, .png or .gif format with a maximum file size of 6 MB. File format and size may be altered to conform to this requirement, but any editing beyond this is not permitted.
d) The submission must be sent from the email address associated with the participant’s account and contain the names of the characters displayed and the name of the respective game server.
e) Each participant may send only one submission. Similarly, submissions which contain a previously submitted combination will not be considered.

5. Winners and Grand Prize Winners
(1) Gameforge will select 10 screenshots from amongst all eligible submissions by 02/11/2016, on the basis of their creativity and originality (‘shortlist’).
(2) The ‘winners’ are the participants who created these 10 screenshots.
(3) Gameforge will announce the 10 winners in the forums (http://board.tera.gameforge.com/) using their respective character names on 02/11/2016.
(4) Gameforge will further inform the winners of their win via an email sent to the address used for their submission (‘notification’).
(5) Gameforge will publish the shortlist in the forums on 02/11/2016. Forum users will be able to rate the shortlist in the form of a ‘forum vote’ until 06/11/2016, 11:55 PM CET.
(6) The ‘grand prize winners’ are the three participants whose screenshots have earned the most votes by the end of the forum vote. In the event of a tie, Gameforge may carry out one further forum vote on 07/11/2016 or decide the grand prize winners by drawing lots.
(7) Gameforge will announce the grand prize winners in the forums using their respective character names on 07/11/2016.
(8 ) Gameforge will further inform the grand prize winners of their win via an email sent to the address used for their submission (‘grand prize notification’) and request a valid postal address (‘address’) for the purposes of sending the grand prize.
(9) Recourse to legal action regarding the determination of winners and grand prize winners is not permitted.
(10) The delivery of the grand prizes will follow within 30 days of receipt of the address by a service provider (‘service provider’) commissioned by Gameforge.
(11) The grand prizes are deemed to have been awarded to the grand prize winners by Gameforge with the handover of the prizes to the service provider. Miscommunication of the address or unsuccessful delivery attempts are the sole responsibility of the grand prize winner.
(12) A cash disbursement and/or payment of the Gameforge coupon/grand prize in goods, or the exchange and/or transfer of the Gameforge coupon or grand prize to third parties is excluded in each case.
(13) In appreciation of their achievements, Gameforge will present the screenshots created by the winners via the channels maintained by Gameforge on Facebook and Twitter. In accordance with Section 6 below, Gameforge may furthermore forward these screenshots to the developers of the online game TERA (Bluehole, Inc.) as a form of special recognition, for the purposes of implementing the screenshots as a loading screen in the game client for a limited period (‘implementation’).
(14) Should the respective winners not wish for this implementation to take place, they can communicate this to Gameforge in reply to the grand prize notification by Monday 26/09/2016.

6. Rights of Use
(1) For the purposes of conducting the forum vote and implementation (together hereafter ‘usage’), the participant confirms that the screenshot is unencumbered by third-party rights, and grants Gameforge the non-exclusive rights of usage, free of charge and without limitation of time and place. This includes the rights of exploitation and reproduction, as well as the right to make the screenshot publicly available and grant usage rights to third parties, in as far as this is necessary for its usage.
(2) The participant agrees that the character name detailed in the submission when used in the contexts of its usage is sufficient evidence of their authorship.

7. Declaration of Consent
The participant consents to the notification or grand prize notification in the case of a win.

8. Data Privacy
(1) Gameforge will collect, use and process the personal data of the participants solely for the purposes detailed in these Terms and Conditions and in accordance with data protection regulations.
(2) This includes forwarding the address on to the service provider. Gameforge will not relay any of the participants’ personal data beyond that.
(3) Further information regarding Gameforge’s handling of personal data can be found in the Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimer
(1) Gameforge, its bodies, employees, and subcontractors are liable exclusively for wilful intent and gross negligence, regardless of legal basis, and in cases of ordinary negligence, only for the violation of essential contractual obligations and limited to foreseeable damages, as far as not precluded by other compulsory statutory provisions.
(2) These limitations do not apply for the loss of life, personal injury or damage to health.

10. Other
(1) The participant agrees to these Terms and Conditions with their submission.
(2) In addition to these Terms and Conditions, the General Terms & Conditions also apply (together the ‘rules’).
(3) Should a participant infringe upon the rules during the participation period, or such an infringement by proven thereafter, their eligibility may be revoked.
(4) Gameforge reserves the right to end the contest before the end of the participation period, if for technical or legal reasons its proper execution cannot be guaranteed.
(5) In the event that any individual provisions of these Terms and Conditions become ineffective, the remaining provisions shall remain effective and binding. Statutory rules shall take the place of the ineffective provision.

More than 350. This is the amount of submissions we have received for our Halloween screenshot contest! Witches, ghosts, monsters… You guys are terrific!

We asked you to send us the creepiest screenshot from the game and today, it’s time to announce the winners.

First of all, we would like to thank all participants for their submissions and since we received so many creative and “spooktacular” screenshots, we decided to not select just 10 but 20 winners! They will all receive a ghost pet within the next days.
