Iaito has arrived!

  • Hey everyone,

as anemsalok has already announced it in the team thread, I am going to be the new Community Manager for the EN-community of TERA!

For those who don’t know me already:
I am Joe and I am a 27 years old guy from Germany. My hobbies include playing video games (especially RPGs), listening to video game music, watching anime and travelling.

I have been playing video games since I received my first SNES as a kid and the games that I played during that time like Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI or Secret of Mana have stayed among my favorite games until today. Several console generations later, my passion for games hasn't waned at all and has eventually led to me becoming a Community Manager at Gameforge.

I’m currently playing TERA on the Fraya Server and just recently reached lv 61 on my Slayer. I love the real-time combat system in this game, since in contrast to MMOs with tab-targeting there is much more room for individual player skill (although I admit that I still suck at it, but I am sure I can improve with more practice!). I should be able to reach max level soon and I can't wait to experience the endgame for myself then. :)

I am looking forward to becoming a part of the TERA family and hope that we’ll have a good time together!
If you have any further questions about me, feel free to ask in this thread or via PN. :D

    Cheers,
    Iaito

  • What do you mean "new"? Does that mean anemsalok is going away? Or you guys both will be CMs? Anyway you sound like a real cool guy I hope you'll be more active seeing as you're a gamer (even if casual) and share alot of my interests.

    Also

    listening to video game music

    Thumbs up.

Too bad you're on Fraya tho instead of Killian. :P

  • Welcome. I hope you enjoy playing TERA, and please consider making an alt on Killian someday. :P We'd love to have you around!

    :elin8:

My lightning is buy one get one free! Now you can get burned for the price of just a spark!

  • Welcome! Fraya is awesome! :D If you need help with something game related I can support you since I'm on Fraya as well. =)

  • I am planning to be as active as possible, so expect to see me around here more often in the future. Don't know how others would describe me, but I'd consider myself to be among the core gamers!
By the way, great to see another fan of video game music in here. Any favorite soundtracks? :)

Thank you! I am enjoying it a lot and can't wait to reach max level. Since you are already the second one who asked, I might really have to consider creating an alt in the future. Killian seems to be really popular!

Thank you! Definitely enjoyed my time on Fraya until now. Will poke if in need!

I actually listen to any movie/game/whatever soundtrack too, even trailer music is great, they're all within same "genre". :P

Well amongst game soundtracks, it's hard to pick a favorite, because it depends on style and mood for me, but definitely one of my most favorite is Deus Ex Human Revlution, by Michael McCann. I think it's a masterpiece especially for ambient. Though it does have its unique style (which fits the game perfectly), so it's not my go-to soundtrack for everything (not to mention I'd get bored).

Great orchestral ones I listen to by Jeremy Soule (Icewind Dale 2, Neverwinter Nights, Supreme Commander, Skyrim, Guild Wars 2, etc), and Transformers 3 game (by Jeff Broadbent, although the movie's soundtrack is fantastic too by Jablonsky), of course there are tons of others but I suppose these could be called my favorites. (actually I also love Icewind Dale 1 by Inon Zur, while on that context)

I have way too many game/movie soundtracks, I guess I could be called a collector. :P

(TERA's soundtrack isn't so bad either but not one of my favorites though, Inon Zur is a good composer regardless)

  • Greetings. You Sound like a nice Guy.

    Ultima | Lv70 Priest | ILv 498 | Yurian | Main
    Aeq | Lv70 Archer | ILv 466 | Yurian | Ex-Main
    Quest | Lv70 Zerk | ILv 470
    | Yurian | what a joke

    Game Over.

Lordz of Ownage - 11/09/13 - Never forget

  • Nice to have you here :3
Since you're on Fraya, like all the cool kids, make sure to come and say hi, maybe join my guild (my bromance harem :3) and experience extreme pleasure while playing :elin22:

  • Jeremy Soule is definitely one of my favorite Western video game composers, especially if I am in the mood for more ambient music. Actually still looking forward to his Northener Symphony if it ever should be finished at this point.
I am not too familiar with the Deus Ex: HR and the Transformers 3 OST, but I might give them a listen! The Transformers movie soundtracks by Jablonksy were good although I didn't like the movies themselves that much. I liked Inon Zur's contributions to the Soul Calibur V soundtrack and agree that he is a really good composer.

I'm actually collecting physical soundtrack releases as well, which isn't cheap since I am mainly a fan of the more melodic-driven Japanese game soundtracks. Japanese CDs are so expensive. :(

Haha, I'll keep that in mind. :P

Try the Icarus theme (first song in this video compilation): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyG6YMLEWus

It's a very unique style and kinda depressing atmosphere but that's why I love it :P I also like The Mole for ambient it's very relaxing for me. Other favorite from there are Opening Credits, First and Last (combat song), And Away We Go (though it's short).

I actually don't have many japanese game soundtracks to be honest, but I have many anime soundtracks tho, Attack on Titan soundtrack for example is great (like most by Sawano Hiroyuki).

  • So any anime recommendations for summer 2016 :whistling:
Oh yes , Welcome to the game.

    Thank you!
Summer 2016? Spring season isn't even over yet :P Looking forward to Danganronpa 3 though.

Thank you for the links! Will give them a listen later. :)

Not the biggest fan of Sawano to be honest, although I like some of his work. My favorite anime composer is probably Kajiura Yuki.

Welcome , wish you the best in the game and as our new manager

    Thank you!
