PCC and Headstart Statistics

I wonder how correct these stats are... I mean, I 've got a legion of human warrior clones on my character select screen just to reserve some names

Would be nice to know what level they started counting at.

I simply found the Human models to be unexpectedly good compared with other games; a pleasant surprise and change of pace from being spacegoats, dwarfs and various other alien races.

I was going to meantion this aswell.
During headstart many of us made legions of human warriors due to it being the first race/class combination you get when you click the choose race/class button. I would imagine these statistics being totally different if they would actually do it in some week, or even now.

Human male+human female because of the looks of various armor pieces on them.

Sorc Elin with korean textures.

I'm a little surprised by the statistics. I suspected that the most played race was Elin, and most played class a Slayer

I little comment to why, from my point of view, people chose one option rather than another.

Humans have been chosen more than the others because we feel we have a certain degree of recognition and familiarity.
But, the thing is that in most of the videos of promotion of Tera, humans look cool, aswell as castanics.
Their armor ig looks very impressive and sexy on women. We can't deny it.
The skin of the characters makes the most important part of it.
When you chose your class, you can wear 3 types of armors just to see how it would look like.
Barakas and poporis don't look impressive at all, there's a lack of "shine".
By that, i mean that the castanic and human armors look very shiny, in contrast to poporis or barakas,
they look grey, or brown, with no much difference on armors.
Armors are well made, it's not exactly the problem, it's the fact that they are not visible enough on them.
Players will spend a lot of time looking at their characters, and may be frustrated to look at their chars and think that they don't look good.
When you have a new armor, the 1st thing you do is look, stare, and go around town to show it if it's a rare one.
On poporis no one will see it, while on a castanic or human, it would look great.
If armor skins were made more appealing on both thoses clases, I think I might create one.
Then, they lack expressions on their face. It's no big deal, but I like to see some kind of expression when they move.
On video promotions, they have none most of the time, while you can see castanic warrior and humans being angry or whatsoever.
Apart from that I got other ideas about it, but it would be quiet long to explain further here.

About classes, all the classes have been made appealing.
Mystics are a bit less played because people most of the time don't really understand what they are.
In the description of the characters, it doesn't say much.
The guys with a big axe, a big sword, or double sword, we can easily understand.
Sorcer, we all know obviously high dps class.
Priest = healer can't be more obvious.
Mystic? What's that?
today, i see mystics playin, and havin a lot of fun, and people then to roll mystics sometimes because they're really kick ass class, and fun to play.
However, I don't think it's needed to be "advertised" The balance will come back again to normal when players will face some mystics.

Warriors? why? Omg those blades look really cool.
Remember the castanics in the add video?
Omg they look SO SEXY! And they're so cool!
Adding to that, when you open Tera, you see the picture of a castanic war.
Subcontiously, it works on our brains.
Then, when you see 5 star difficulty to play it, you wanna take the challenge.
mastered, they are a nighmare in pvp high lvl. Omg they move everywhere, you have a kangaroo on the field!
Plus the dps is great.
They don't need to be nerfed, because few are the good wars.
I did ask some wars why tehy chose this class.
99% of the time is this 5 star difficulty thing: "Omg I will be the best one, one day"
or " I wanna play hardest class and be awesome at it"
The kinda social reward ig for playing a hard class to master counts a lot.
I have a war and a priest myself. Why? War was 5 star difficulty, and i had the same ideas as others.
Now i have a lvl 50 war, and I got fed up of it. Wars are great, just not my taste don't get me wrong.
In every Mmo my prefered class was the healer.
So i just rolled priest, keeping my war close to the zone where i'm lvlin with my priest.
Why? I got ganked by 3 guys at same time. When i get ganked, i take the name of the guys, roll my war, and KILL EM lowbies! Then when I come back to my priest, they run after me killin again. Think they did not understand.
Go back war lvl 50 back again and camp the area around the npc's who give quests! ( not in the camp, around it. so if they wanna quest, they need to get out of it at some point) MUAHAHA... xD
When I told them I was the priest they killed, they apologise and asked me let em continue questin...

I got more ideas about all these stats, but i think more than 1ppl are bored to read this. ( No it's not a youtube comment! O.o )

Yeah same as Emrendil, did not expect Humans to be on top.

I choose human simply because of the racial skill. It is the most beneficial out of all.

How can people not love Popori or baraka? I jumped at the chance to have a different race to other games, so have both of those for my chars.

I took Warrior because I read the comment about warrior tanking on the US site and I thought

After which I picked Aman for their damage reduction skill. I also like the race in general.

Baraka Mystic as my main, Amani Slayer as my first alt.

Why Baraka?
Because they look very original, "epic", ancient, mysterious, unique, and far from typical and stereotyped aesthetic canons.
Their lore, their attention for knowledge and their wisdom also made them very fascinating to me.
Plus their cloth armor models are really awesome

Why Mystic?
Well, I was expecting something completely different from Mystic. Don't get me wrong, I like how Mystic plays out but in the end it's just a healer, a "slightly different priest".
I was expecting a flexible class that didn't excel in anything but could smoothly from one role to another.
If there's a role that I typically love in MMOs, that's gotta be the role of "supporter", a role that is disappearing in almost all MMOs around.
It's the typical class that doesn't do a lot of dps alone, but has a lot of buffs that enhance other players' DPS, easily compensating the loss of your single DPS.
The same if you see it as a healer. I like to be the class that coordinates stuff from behind and cares about filling the gaps between all other party members, that class that supports and enhances all other players bringing out all of their potential.
Mystic partially does this, but so does Priest... so yeah, it's "just" a cool healer.
Nonetheless, I still love Mystic so I don't regret my choice.

Why Amani? (male)
Generally I love antropomorphic beasts. I love Charrs in Guild Wars 2, I was in love with Galkas in FFXI and of course I couldn't help but fall in complete love with Amani and their uniqueness. Much of what I said for Barakas applies to Amani too, at least males (don't really like female models that much)

Why Slayer?
I wanted a melee class. Warrior seemed too speedy, Berserker too slow, Slayer looked like the perfect compromise.
Only thing I regret is armor, I wish Slayer used a different and heavyer armor from the Warrior/Archer one.

Picked Castanic male cause their build resemble mine the most (ok I dont have those ripped abs xD but still) aaannd their endgame armor is wiiiiiicckkkkeeeeedd! Zerker cause its fun to wreck havoc and it's a bit tricky to be really good at it.

I find it interesting to compare the stats we have gleaned from the system, to the stats that have developed on the forum. In particular, it's fascinating to see the differences between the European TERA community as a whole, and the subsection of that community that belongs to the forum users.

Am I alone? Am I the only one who finds it fascinating?

I don't know if you're being sincere or sarcastic, but either way I completey agree with you, and I hope this serves as future reference for forum people to understand that what may seem obvious from the people posting inside threads, may not be as obvious for everybody else who's not even subscribed to forums, not voicing his opinion and probably is bigger in numbers than the whole amount of people posting in forums.

We should all think about it when a company makes a choice that may seem to have no sense and against the will of people posting on forums, who often thinks they are the "majority".
Most of the times they're not the majority at all, and a Company of course must value this.

Hah, Aman race was my favourite from start, even though in beta i played with berserk and now with lancer (though one of my alts is berserk). Just looks pretty amazing and "badass" like. Human race is just too boring for me, going to change my priest and slayer in sometime soon
