Introduction to Fansites – TeraHispano.com

  • How long has TeraHispano.com been around? What gave you the idea to start the site?

Opossites: We started to think about a dedicated TERA Spanish fansite at the end of 2009 but we had to work on all the material and all translations. So, in the beginning of 2010 we started TeraHispano.com.

The idea was simple: we, as gamers, were really tired of seeing all those admins who only wanted us to update their website with translations and content. This lack of interest from admins led us to begin TeraHispano.com.

TeraHispano.com is a group which has in its ranks: Azka, admin from the first ever TERA Spanish fansite and Dr. Pariolo, admin of the second TERA Spanish fansite, among others. Along with them are Nersidia and Crim as forum moderators and Odin, our newest addition.

We are a group, we work together. Also all of us came from other games and none of us has a bad reputation in the gaming community.

What does TeraHispano.com offer its visitors?

Azka: We offer TERA completely in Spanish, all info and news for all Spanish-speaking people . And a pleasant, friendly, attentive company too. A place where you can share your hopes for TERA.

Opossites: All the news concerning TERA (devs interviews, articles, guides) are translated very quickly by our translation team and posted online. Everything about TERA can be found on TeraHispano.com. We think that we have to be constantly looking for TERA information for our users. TeraHispano.com has active members of staff dedicated to TERA and the TeraHispano.com users.

This vision is shared by other dedicated fansites like TERA-Welten.de with daily cooperation like translations and articles all concerning TERA.

How did you first come to hear about TERA?

Azka: I knew of TERA because I played Lineage 2, and I was interested in the next launch, although TERA was not Lineage 3, I still loved the graphics and target-less battle system.

Opossites: Some time ago when TERA was called Project S1. I´ve been playing Lineage 2 for almost 5 years, so I found TERA as I was looking for more info concerning a new L2 "version". But, actually TERA is not Lineage 3, obviously.

How old are you? And what do you do alongside working on TeraHispano.com?

Opossites: I´m 32 years old. And besides my job, I have other interests and also I’m involved in some other projects within the games industry and outside of it.

Why do you call yourself Opossites? Is there a story behind it?

Opossites: Opossites comes from an album title of one of my favorite bands, Samael.

What MMOs have you played before or do you still play actively?

Azka: I have played too many MMOs, I like the RPG type. Some games I really liked are Lineage 2, World of Warcraft, Age of Conan, Warhammer Online, Runes of Magic, Aion, …
At the moment I don’t play anything, I work so hard for TeraHispano.com.

Opossites: I haven’t only played MMOs; I also like offline RPGs. The Witcher, Lineage 2, D&D, Heroes Of Might and Magic saga, Aion, Warcraft, Baldurs Gate, Diablo...

What do you hope Frogster will do in the future? Do you have any suggestions as
to how you, as an active community member, could be made happy and content?

Azka: I hope that Frogster works hard on the big project to launch TERA in Europe because there are many people who follow this MMORG and they hope to play the game next year.
But, if we think about “the long wait”, we will be happy with more info day to day about TERA, the world, its possibilities …

Opossites: I´m really happy now because I could go to Gamescom 2010 to watch the TERA EU presentation. So I think we are going to continue to work very closely with Frogster.

Describe yourself for us – only using adjectives

Opossites: Hard worker, hardcore gamer, anti-flamer, anti-troll.

Which class and race will be your main character next?

Azka: It’s so difficult to decide, but I'm interested in hybrid classes like Mystic and
Berserker and races like Castanic and Popori. Although, I'm sure I will play with all
Races and Classes. I need to test them all!

Opossites: I´ve always loved High Elves. Their role, their Lore...I think I will definitively play a High Elf Sorcerer. Sorcerers have been my main class in every MMO I´ve played so far.

What do you like about MMOs? PVP, PVE, raids, crafting, chatting etc.

Azka: I like PvP, but I play it with moderation. I’m a little aggressive. I like PvE, when I want to do quests solo and when I want to go into dungeons with friends.
I like to win achievements too, especially if I get a good reward.

Opossites: I like both PvP and PvE. Also raids and everything from a MMO. The only thing I don´t like too much is crafting.

Complete the sentence: I want to play TERA because….

    Azka: I’m an addict (xD)

    Opossites: I´m a gamer.

What makes the TERA community stand out from the rest?

Azka: The TERA community stands out by the community care. You pay attention to all the
suggestions from members and you answer all questions.

Opossites: TERA devs are always taking care of the community. This isn’t what you always find and I think this is the main reason why TERA community stands out from the rest.

What do you hope to see in TERA (such as features etc.)?

Azka: I want to see a new game, different from others, complete, with lots of content.

Opossites: "TERA doesn't just have a story - it is a story". If the game keeps up with this sentence, I think I will play the game for a long time.

    Closing remarks

Azka: Finally, I’ll say that TeraHispano is and will be for the Spanish-speaking community, we will try to work closely with Frogster, although Spain is a difficult market for games.
We think that TERA is a game which will have lots of success.
And, for this reason, we support this community with the hope that the community will grow and be successful and that the game gets translated or that we’ll receive an official website in Spanish, etc. someday.

Opossites: Thanks a lot to the European Community Manager for giving us the opportunity for this interview. Keep up the good work!

  • Intresting interview, thx! ^^ I guess more Fansites introductions will come, right?

Yep, more Fansites will be introduced in the next week(s).

  • Hi there!. Thanks a lot for the support! :)

  • We, the spanish community, are very lucky to have such a great fansite. They not only get the news translated very fast but they also keep in contact with the devs, make interviews... You guys are doing a great job, thank you.

PS: I'm registered at TeraHispano forums but I haven't posted yet, it's because I'm soo lazy. Sorry >_<

  • Yeah, it's great for TERA espana to have many staff memebers. Official Lithuanian TERA site consists only of 2 members(there were 3, but that person left so now there's only me and the owner of the web). Still, we are updating the web with big news :]

  • This fansite is very dedicated. They update every thing that appears concerning TERA. I´m not spanish but I really enjoy this site to practise my spanish :).

  • Terahispano is my #1 spanish fansite ! <3 They have a great team and also do a great job.Until now they have been embracing with much warmth all events hosted by Ethics Violation with their last community involvement in the suggestion cycle.

So it's really good to see a fansite co-ordinating its community with events happening in the official boards, that's true socialization :D

Terahispano has Ethics Violation support in every way !

  • Thanks all!!! And thanks Frogster. We are so happy with that oportunity :D
