Berserker PvP Guide (In progress)

  • Original Idea/lineup from Warmth - http://tera-forums.enmasse.com…hs-PvP-Berserker-Guide-20

Soooo, since I get like 5-10 whispers every day from people asking me what crystals I use, how to play Berserker and class related stuff, I thought about making a quick basic Berserker guide so I dont get spammed always with the same questions :/.

    Race

After the "Go Berserk" patch I dont recommend any race - just play the one you like the most.

    Crystals

    Fine Savage Niveot
    Fine Swift Niveot
    Fine Cruel Niveot(optional)
    Fine Salivating Niveot
    Fine Virulent Niveot(optional)

Fine Relentless Niveot x2(x3 in Dstance)
    Fine Resolute Niveot
    Fine Grieving Niveot

    Fine Keen Vyrsk
    Fine Griefing Zyrk

It's completely up to you if you go for full Keen Vyrsk/Griefing Zyrk,
mix them or anything - just try out what you like most.

    Rolls/Gear

    Weapon(Tensus)

    - 6% more damage when attacking a player
    - 6,9% more damage when attacking a placer from behind
    - Increase Crit Power by 0.3
    - Increase damage by 6,9% when attacking prone targets
    - Increase Attack speed by 4.5% (replace this one with prone targets if you are using Renegade
or any other weapon that doesn't have the 9% Attack speed roll as base)

    Etching: Energetic/Keen

Note: As a PvP Berserker I recommend at least +28 attack speed to be somewhat useful even when FoB is on CD,
if you are above this you can choose for yourself if you would like to have more crit rate or more attack speed.

Y u no use cdr cheese roll?: I dont have it because with my ping(16-35) I can still perma KD people with just
spamming Thunderstrike and anyways: with the current skill set you dont even need it anymore to perma kd someone.

    Chest

    - Raise max HP by 8%
    - Reduce damage by 6%
    - Decrease damage by 6,9% while knocked down
    - Decrease damage from frontal attacks by 6,9%
    - Recovers 1.2% of total HP every 5 seconds.(optional)

    Etching: Grounded/Unyielding

Note:I'm not a fan of unyielding because you just cant really "see" the difference, so I wont say anything about
which etching is better and why, I just like it more to have a badass defense on my chara screen(*OH WOW LOOK HE HAS 70k DEF!*)

You are a tryhard premade 3v3 zerk? then go for full dmg reduce, if you are also into solo bgs(Gridiron,1v1 solo OWPvP),
go for the HP reg, which of the two 6,9% rolls you replace with it is your choice in the end - I would change it with the
    frontal one tho.

    Gloves

    - Power increase by 5
    - Increase your crit rate by 9
    - Attack speed increases by 2,25%

    Etching: Energetic/Keen

I think I dont have to explain why you should pick these rolls.

    Boots/Greaves

    - Increases Movement Speed by 6%
    - Increases Endurance by 4
    - Decreases duration of slowing effect by 24%.
    - Recovers 0,6% of total HP every 5 seconds.(optional)

    Etching: Grounded/Unyielding

Note: Same sh!t - hardcore premade 3v3 people go for the 24% decrease, duel/solo PvP people go for the HP reg roll.

    Accessories

Edgetime Necklace - Increase Power by 4
Edgetock Earring - Raise max HP by 4% (Recovers 0,48% of max HP every 5 seconds optional)
Decrease duration of stun effects by 10%
Eddgetock Ring - Increase Power by 4 - Increase Crit Power by 0.04
Forcetock Earring - Raise max HP by 4% (Recovers 0,48% of max HP every 5 seconds optional)
Decrease duration of stun effects by 10%
Forcetock Ring - Increase Power by 4 - Increase Crit Power by 0.04

Brooch: Always 3 Power & 6 Crit rate - if you are using the Quickcarve brooch I suggest you to roll double crit rate(+6 +4) or +6 Crit rate and raise max hp by 2,3%.

    Belt: 6 Crit 3 Power.

    Glyphs

Well, as probably many people know already I'm a pretty lazy person and I ALWAYS use the same glyph build
for everything I do(3v3 Premade,Soloq,Gridiron,FW,Duels) - so my glyph builds for specific cases may wont be
the best ones, pls no hate.

    Duels: http://teratoday.com/glyphcalc…:f3:g0:i04:n0:s0:u1:v2:A1

    3v3 Premade: http://teratoday.com/glyphcalc…3:e356:g0:i0:n0:s0:u1:v02

My all in one build(Dstance patch): http://teratoday.com/glyphcalc…:f3:i04:p3:s0:u1:v3:y0:A1

Note: The Premade glyph build is already for the Nexus Patch where some berserkers will most likely switch back to Astance.

    Starting your KD combos

You have as berserker pretty much many ways to start your KD combos/force retaliate on your enemy - here are the basics.

Combo Attack -> Block -> Thunderstrike

    Raze -> Block -> Thunderstrike

    Overwhelm -> Flatten

    Tackle

    Punishing Strike x2 -> Block -> Thunderstrike

    Cyclone -> Block -> Thunderstrike

    Play around the block

    Raze

    If you are in a 1v1(Arena,Duels doesn't matter) against a Zerk/Lancer/Dstance warrior,
then you should focus more on your skill "Raze" since it has a larger area and can stagger
people even behind/next to you when you do it right.

    Combo Attack(risky)

This is a risky move(without Flurry of Blows), since your enemy can stagger you for a short time
while you are animation locked, best way to use it is with flurry of blows up, then its almost a
    guaranteed stagger through his block.

    Punishing Strike play around

simply as that, waste your first hit of it, move to the left/right and use it again to stagger him from
the side, doesnt work always tho.

    The "Block" Game

You will face this problem pretty often against classes that can block
-> both of you hiding behind your block, no one wants to give the other one an advantage
you can either try to push through his block, or just play the block game and wait for him
to start his attack and try to punish him in this small period of time.

Waiting for his Attack -> Raze -> Block -> TS

or Raze -> Block -> Staggering Strike -> Punishing Strike 2x -> Flatten

    Last words:

NEVER try to copy a players playstyle 100%, find your own style and improve it - always try to duel people and dont stop even if you lose 5,10,50 times in a row, just face your fails and try to not do them again. I did TONS of duels back in Vm1 times against Kyä, probably the best Berserker I've ever seen and also the Berserker who teached me how to KD chain someone.

This Guide is NOT FINISHED YET, I'm planning to do a how to 1v1 vs every class section, but not yet since I'm not really in the mood :/.

My english isn't the best, so I apologize already if something is hard to read. Just send me a PM if you think I could write something different/better

  • English seems fine, reading fast through it didn't pick any mistakes. Reading it mostly to learn how to counter zerks better :p

    DPS spreadsheet~

Cleared data due to new patch, not playing much myself so data will rely on whatever people send me.
(Full screenshot so I can see which instance and boss to avoid cheating + see consumables used. Last time got data from some boss when people claimed it was another, max hp gave it away)

  • I remember your teacher. You probably not(we didnt chat or much duel ) but he would remember me, ask him :) I guess he left like 3.5 - 4 years ago? He was cleaning arena, but losing against to me lel, (and i was losing against a sorcerer, guess was his friend) Kyä was a nice guy, too bad he left really, idk why.
Some friends of mine when talked about you (like , "there is an op zerk named Soaria") , i said "ahhh yes, but not him, he had a teacher which is better." And never would prove it, if you would post this in past like 2 years ago, i would link them to this post, damn its too late now :)
Anyways I allways had respect to good zerks - which was hard to play with zerk against to others in past -. And the ones who play a class and never give up instead of passing to ops to avoid class balances-nerfs (generally mistakes).
And now.. i cant imagine -idk how is in the Valkyrie patch but- to win against an op zerk, you or Kya no matter. One mistake or no need to 1 mistake even, nearly no possible for a slayer. Same with lancer i guess.

Nice guide, keep add time to time please for newbies or anyone who targets zerk.
As i said newbies in zerk, like me for example, if i return to game one day and if open a zerk , sure i would use your guide. Thanks
