Greetings, adventurers!
In a few weeks' time the world of TERA will be coming up with some grand changes. In December, the maximum character level increasing to 65 helped in the discovery of an unknown continent. Waiting for you in the next patch are impressive and flying guild fortresses, to be found in existing areas!
- Flying Guild Fortresses
Flying Guild Fortresses near Allemantheia
As there are only a limited number of these guild fortresses in all of Arborea, it won't be easy to capture one of these together with your guild. The simple rule applies: be better than the competition!
In the guild battles, you will have to choose from one of two disciplines:
To gather your points, shine through the destruction of powerful enemies in instances as well as in the collection of achievements or go up against other players in battlefields as well as in exciting guild wars.
After one month, the most powerful, active and successful guilds will be announced. These then get to call one of the guild fortresses their own for four weeks!
- Top-level Dungeons
Alongside the flying guild fortresses, there will be a few new instances enriching the world of TERA. On the one hand, you will be able to enter a flying airship in the most difficult new instance. On the other, you can explore the depths of Bathysmal in the most difficult mode. In addition, the already well-known instance 'Channelworks' is also waiting to once again be explored!
The Flying Airship Engine Room
In this engine room you will find new equipment parts and materials, perfect for producing the best weapons and armor!
- Expanded Enchantment System
Look forward to three new enchantment levels for equipment and visual effects on weapons. For example, a +15 weapon will now glow with an impressive and threatening orange-red wings!
Priest Weapon at +15
There are only a limited amount of equipment items that can be levelled to +15 and these cannot be matched for their exclusivity!- Further Patches in 2015
It's staying interesting in TERA – following the flying guild fortresses there will also be a competitive dungeon too. A 5-player group will have to fight their way through 20 floors to get to the top of the tower and pick up the best rewards. On the back of this comes the new, tenth class, which will be available from level 1 for female High Elves and Castanic!
New Dungeon with 20 Floors
As always, to keep you well-informed and ready for the content, we will be writing a preview news for this coming patch of flying guild fortresses, new dungeons and the expanded enchantment system. Make sure to keep an eye on our website so that you don't miss any of the news as it comes.
Have fun and wishing you an exciting pre-patch phase,
The TERA Team -
As we announced last week, in the coming weeks we'll be presenting the contents from the second part of the Fate of Arun update, in particular the hard mode of Bathysmal Rise!
This preview builds upon the existing description for normal mode, and only highlights the new/additional attacks. In general you can assume that every attack deals more damage, even if this isn't explicitly mentioned each time.
Mephisis
Mephisis receives two specific additions to her existing attacks. She randomly turns on a player spouting poisonous breath; if the player is hit, they receive a debuff which strips them of 8% of maximum HP per second. The effect can and should be removed by a healer as quickly as possible!
Mini-Event 1: Poisonous Gas
Once destroyed by Mephisis, a second pile of rocks spreads a poisonous patch throughout the entire area!
Tantibus
Mini-Event 1: Phrenic Slime
This attack has been enhanced. It still reduces mana points, but the duration of the slimy areas on the floor increases from 60 seconds to 1 hour. You'll have to make sure these are laid down using up as little space as possible.
New attack: Crossed Waves
Tantibus has a new attack pattern in the form of waves which spread out from the middle of the room in a cross shape. Players hit lose hit points and are thrown back.

Fulminar
Mini-Event 1: Buzz Mode
In hard mode, the lines which Fulminar zooms down will no longer be visible. In addition, the final two cutters will leave trails behind them on the ground which cause damage on walking on them for a further few seconds!

Mini-Event 2: Floodwaters
In addition to the damage, the player receives a debuff which reduces 12% of maximum HP every 3 seconds. This can be cleansed.
Mini-Event 3: Lightning Shield
If the lightning shield isn't destroyed quickly enough, the player receives a removable debuff which reduces 12% of maximum HP every 3 seconds.
Mini-Event 4: Gift of Annihilation
There is a further pattern to the Gift of Annihilation. Players have to arrange themselves according to the current or new patterns:

New effect: Despair
When Fulminar's HP drops below 20%, he gives himself a buff which dramatically increases his attack speed and power. This buff cannot be removed and will last until he is vanquished!
Have fun and enjoy the pre-patch phase,
The TERA Team -
The second part of the Fate of Arun patch has some competitive battles of the highest level. The brand new and highly prized guild fortresses are coming!
Gather points for your guild through various activities which will be added automatically to those of your fellow guild members. Once a month the points will be added up to see which guild has the most. 26 guilds on each server can then earn a guild fortress for a whole four weeks.
Who gets which fortress?
The competition is separated into two types: guild masters can decide whether to pit the guild against others in PvE battle or in PvP. The ranks are then attached to set guild fortress levels or rather their Honor Halls.
The following overview shows you the rankings per battle type:
- 1st and 2nd place: Level 1 Honor Hall at a capital city (Velika or Allemantheia)
- 3rd to 5th place: Level 2 Honor Hall at a capital city (Velika or Allemantheia)
- 6th to 10th place: Level 3 Honor Hall at a capital city (Velika or Allemantheia)
Guilds that were in possession of a level 1-3 flying fortress previously yet in the current month do not make it into the top 10 can still earn themselves a guild fortress for a further 4 weeks:
- Previous month - 1st to 3rd place: Level 3 Honor Hall at a village
Configure your guild fortress according to your tastes!
Once your guild has earned a fortress (more details further below), you can then configure various areas of it. The guild master simply has to talk to the responsible NPC in the fortress once the adjustable elements have been unlocked with the required number of points. Then they can get started.
Examples of a standard fortress:
Different adjustments can be made, such as more imposing walls and a colored roof.
Add bridges with Griffon statues, which can be walked across by members.
Or give your fortress a completely new appearance.
The unlocked elements will be saved and can then be reused in the next guild fortress after the first one expires.
How do guilds score points in the ranking list?
The guild competition starts with the selection of the league in which you wish to compete. From the moment that you select either PvP or PvE, you will begin to gather points with varying activities within the corresponding discipline.
PvP League
Guilds earn points by participating and for the rank reached in the Fraywind Canyon, the Corsairs' Stronghold, the Champions' Skyring as well as in guild battles (more on this below). In every second cycle, the points from the Kumasylum also count. The performances from the Alliance Vaults (1 person) as well as the rank in the Sky Cruiser Endeavor (Hard) also contribute to the total point score.
The best ten guilds each receive a fortress around Velika. The best three guilds from the previous cycle, who are no longer in the rankings, will also receive a fortress in Lumbertown, Tulufan and Popolion.
PvE League
Participants in PvE gather points by participating and for the rank reached in the Sky Cruiser Endeavor/Bathysmal Rise and Ravenous Gorge dungeons as well as through completed progress. In every second cycle the Sky Cruiser Endeavor and Bathysmal Rise switch.
Here too the performances from the Alliance Vaults (1 person) as well as the rank in the Corsairs' Stronghold also contribute to the total point score.
The best ten guilds each receive a fortress around Allemantheia. The best three guilds from the previous cycle, who are no longer in the rankings, will also receive a fortress in Veritas, Frontera and Bleakrock.
New System for Guild Battles
The battles between the guilds in the open world have been reworked and are now dependant on members and account count in the respective guilds. To start a combat, you will need to use "Fame" as a stake. Fame points are handed out weekly on Wednesdays:
- To gain Fame, in a guild at least 30 different accounts must have characters above level 60 (with a maximum of 100 accounts).
- 60 Fame points per account will be dealt out to the characters. For example, if you have three characters over level 60 in three different guilds, then your 60 Fame points will be distributed as 20 per guild. To
maximise your points, it pays to have all of your characters in the same guild!
With enough points in the bank you can challenge another guild and stake your Fame. The challenged guild can then either accept, refuse or suggest a higher stake. The answer has to be made within 24 hours otherwise the battle counts as a loss.
To win the battle, you will need to fulfil one of the following conditions with your guild:
- Be the first guild to kill 200 enemy players
- Be the first guild to have the highest amount of killed players after 24 hours.
- If you both have less than 30 players killed or after 24 hours of stand-off with the enemy guild then the match is declared a draw and both guilds lose the Fame points they invested.
At the end of a cycle (4 weeks) the amount of points that each guild has attained will be counted up. The result then influences the rankings for a guild fortress. However, only the values for guilds that have more than eight guild battles within a cycle will be counted!
Additional Features of a Guild Fortress
Alongside the expansion of your fortress into an imposing structure, there are also many other advantages to the new system:
- Summonable NPCs that sell a selection of costumes, weapon designs as well as back and head decorations for temporary use. You can all wear the same outfit
as a guild in your fortress. Once you leave the fortress, these items will disappear after a few minutes. - Guild mounts for all members for a cycle (only the best guilds in each league / varying mounts per league)
- Regeneration of stamina within the fortress
- Large guild logo on a flag in the town where the fortress is floating (only the top 3 guilds per league)
- Employable NPCs that sell production materials
Have fun with the new challenges for you and your guild! The TERA Team

The coming patch gives TERA Club members the exclusive opportunity to enter the Ghillieglade once a day. This is a level 65 single-player dungeon in which you can loot Masterwork Alkahest, Master Enigmatic Scrolls and many other useful items.
One entrance guaranteed each day
To use your daily entrance to the dungeon, as a TERA Club member simply use the new scroll that you will find in your club tab. This scroll then allows you to teleport into an exclusive hall in Velika, where the portal to Ghillieglade awaits. The scroll will be consumed when you teleport to the entry hall and is then again available at midnight. Once you have defeated the end boss Banyakas you will be teleported back to Velika.
Earn an entrance each week
In addition, every player can also earn themselves an entry via the Vanguard Initiative. The weekly bonus that you receive once you have completed 20 daily quests is being expanded to include an entry ticket to the Ghillieglade with the patch. So even players without TERA Club are able to enter the instance.
Loot in the Ghillieglade
Banyakas drops various loot: some with a 100% chance, others are somewhat rarer. Here is a complete list of these items:
100% chance:- 20-50 Gold

Further daily entries
Club members receive one entry each day, in addition all players receive one per week – however all characters have three potential entries into the
Ghillieglade each day. For this reason we will be offering entry tickets in the TERA shop after the patch. Club members can purchase these to be able to enter the Ghillieglade two further times a day.We hope that you like this new feature and look forward to hearing your feedback!
The TERA Team -
To avoid confusion.
TERA-Club members= 1 entry per day free
non members= 1 entry per weekTERA-Club members= can buy more entrance scrolls in the shop. Can use two per day + the one they get from their club= 3 max per day
TERA-Club members= these scrolls are tradable
non member= can buy more scrolls and use up to 3 per day.ALL the above, is PER SERVER, not account nor per character. Please read underneathI hope this helps...
-
Sorry there was a misunderstanding from my part!!!
ALL players, can enter Ghillieglade, with each of their characters 3 times per day.
The one free entrance that the members of the TERA Club get, is bound to server.
So... If you have 65 level chars on ALL the servers (and you are member of the TERA-Club), then you can enter Ghillieglade, daily once for free on each server.

In this part of our patch preview we are heading into the skies! In the Sky Cruiser Endeavor, currently the hardest challenge, you fight against some crafty boss monsters with fiery attacks.
Here we are going to explain the normal and hard modes of the dungeon and we are also presenting the bosses and their main attacks. Attacks that only appear in hard mode have been marked with a [Hard] prior to the text.
In the Control Room: Putrion
In the first room, the Control Room, you first meet Perimos. However he is at first covered by a protective shield and cannot be attacked just yet. Once you have entered the room, the entrance will close. From then on, aggressive monsters will be summoned to attack you in waves.
To come out of here alive you need to stand your ground against the monster waves and then defeat Putrion at the end. As soon as this monster is summoned, Perimos will move on into the Engine Room, with the plan of crashing the sky cruiser.
Note: Putrion's attacks are similar to those of Chimaerus in the Macellarius Catacombs. Putrion also runs straight through the room every now and then. For this reason, it is
best when the tank amongst you keeps him in a corner of the room.
Otherwise, it may happen that Putrion, without thinking, walks out of the entrance and then your battle will be reset.[Hard] Perimos aims at a player with a laser and then shoots a beam of blistering energy through the room. Players hit by this die immediately!
As soon as you have defeated Putrion, the path to the Engine Room becomes available. Head that way quickly to stop Perimos from destroying the sky cruiser.
In the Engine Room: Perimos
In the Engine Room there are six Aeonalis Pylons around Perimos that have to be protected. If Perimos manages to destroy all Aeonalis Pylons then the sky cruiser will crash and your group will perish.
[Hard] Here you have to protect eight Aeonalis Pylons.
Perimos heads to the center of the room and aims at one of the pylons. He then shoots a beam at the pylon, which inflicts damage and can potentially
destroy it.
The one chance you have to at least protect the Aeonalis Pylons from damage is if you position your group between Perimos and the targeted Aeonalis Pylon. This way the pylon takes less damage and is not directly destroyed by the first beam. Players hit do however suffer damage as well as a damaging effect that leeches 5% of your health each second. Healers will therefore need to heal and cleanse.[Hard] Sometimes Perimos may jump into the center of the room and then inflict damage when he lands. In addition to this, he can also attack two Aeonalis Pylons one after the other. For this reason, it is even more important that the group members are cleansed and healed as soon as possible.
To win this battle and save the sky cruiser, Perimos has to be defeated as quickly as you can and the damage dealt to the pylons has to be reduced as much as you
can. As soon as you have eliminated Perimos, a teleport will appear, taking you to the deck of the sky cruiser to the final enemy.Sky Cruiser Deck: Darkan
Darkan is the last and most difficult boss on the Sky Cruiser Endeavor and he will be a true challenge in both modes. Give it your all and dodge his melee and ranged attacks as well as following his pattern on the floor to avoid taking any damage.
During the battle Darkan disappears and summons a servant who constantly attacks a player. Defeat this servant as soon as possible! If you don't manage this, Darkan will return in flames and wipe out the entire group. If you do manage to kill the servant fast enough, then Darkan will be visible once again and will also be stunned for a few seconds. This time should be used to its fullest by your team to ensure you inflict as much damage as you can.
[Hard] Here flames appear on the floor that provide Darkan with more health. These slowly move from the outside of the battle area towards the center, making the
available space to fight decrease in size as time continues. Keep away from the fire at all times: It inflicts a large amount of damage.[Hard] Darkan deals out a damaging effect to all players, where they cannot use any skills for a few seconds and in addition lose 10% of their health continually. Healers should therefore ensure that all group members have as much health as possible at all times so that they can survive this effect.
We hope you have fun high above the clouds – hopefully nobody is scared of heights!
The TERA Team -
In this final patch preview, the primary focus is on the expanded enchantment system. It is here to help you enchant certain weapons and equipment pieces to +12 and in doing so, give them great power.
Up to now, equipment pieces needed to get to level +9 to be a masterwork, to then have them enchanted to a maximum of +12 using a Masterwork Alkahest. The coming patch lets you transform selected level +12 equipment to Apex items and then, using Apex Enchantment, upgrade them to level +15.
Warrior with a level +13 weapon
Apex Conversion
If a weapon, piece of armor, gloves or footwear bears the phrase "Eligiblefor Apex Enchantment", you will be able to take it to Fovarth in the legendary smith's workshop, in Habere. The conversion into an Apex item and the then following Apex enchantment can only be carried out there. The costs depend on the item and the alkahest you use.
Apex Conversion (100% success rate)
- All equipment pieces: 800 MWA or 650 RA/EA or 500 VA
Apex Enchantment (costs per attempt):- Weapon: 150 MWA or 125 RA/EA or 100 VA
- Armor: 135 MWA or 110 RA/EA or 90 VA
- Gloves and footwear: 110 MWA or 95 RA/EA or 75 VA
(MWA = Masterwork Alkahest; RA = Rare Alkahest; EA = Extensive Alkahest; VA = Valuable Alkahest)If you have an equipment item at +12, you can start the Apex conversion directly with Fovarth. The conversion into an Apex item is always 100% successful, however it does not provide you with any increased attributes other than the ability to enchant the item to +13, +14 and +15. After the Apex conversion, an "eye" will appear on the Apex item's icon.
Weapon with an eye on the icon
Apex Enchantment
If an equipment piece is an Apex item, you can select Apex Enchantment when you speak with Fovarth.
Depending on the item, you will need varying amounts of alkahest (see above). In comparison to enchantment up to +12, the success rates here are much higher.
But please note, should an upgrade fail up to +12 then the item remains at its reached enchantment level. From +13 on, the level drops back to +12 should the enchantment attempt fail.Sorcerer with a level +14 weapon
Advantages to Apex Enchantment
The enchantment to +13, +14 and +15 does not unlock any new, random bonuses. It instead greatly increases base values. Weapons provide a higher attack and impact modifier while armor, gloves and footwear improve defense and balance modifiers.
The following additional effects are given to weapons during Apex enchantment:
- +13: golden glowing wings
- +14: orange glowing wings
- +15: red glowing wings
Lancer with a level +15 weapon
Have fun enchanting your equipment,
