Fate of Arun: New skills

  • The expansion Fate of Arun coming in December will open up a new chapter for TERA. Mysteries surrounding the bloodthirsty Archdevas are waiting in the far north of Arun, mysteries which need to be unraveled as you progress towards the increased level cap of 65.


    Starting today we're bringing you a series of previews covering the patch's new skills, regions, instances and more.


    First up are the skills: We'll be presenting a different class' skills every day!

  • Skill Preview


    NEW: Binding Sword I


    Throw your sword to snare up to 4 enemies within 21 meters distance and draw them towards you. You may not draw elites or BAMs. Cooldown: 50 seconds.


    Empowered Binding Sword: Increases the skill power of Binding Sword by 20%.


    Energetic Binding Sword: Decreases the cooldown of Binding Sword by 20%.



    IMPROVED: Deadly Gamble II


    Crit rate increases by 48 for 20 seconds, but your crit resistance decreases by 30. Also, reduces melee attack skill cooldowns by half.


    Lingering Deadly Gamble: Increases effect duration by 20%.

  • Skill Preview


    NEW: Rallying Cry


    Your defiant shout draws aggro while you and party members within 10 meters distance become immune to knockdown and immobilization for 8 seconds. Shares the same cooldown (30 seconds) with Guardian Shout.


    Energetic Rallying Cry: Decreases cooldown by 20%.


    Lingering Rallying Cry: Increases effect duration by 30%.


    Spirited Rallying Cry: Reduces MP cost by 150.


    Threatening Rallying Cry: Provides 100% additional aggro.



    NEW (PASSIVE): Hold the Line


    Successful Stand Fasts recovers 50 Resolve and gains 1% additional aggro. Additional aggro can stack up to 20 times, but will disappear on being successfully hit.


    IMPROVED: Adrenaline Rush II


    Your attack speed increases by 20% for 20 seconds: Melee attack skill cooldowns decrease by half, and you gain additional aggro.

  • Skill Preview


    NEW: Eviscerate


    Deals powerful damage and knocks the opponent down. This skill activates faster when following Overhand Strike, Whirlwind, Knockdown Strike, Leaping Strike, Stunning Backhand, Heart Thrust, Startling Kick, or the fourth consecutive hit with Combo Attack. Cooldown: 10 seconds.


    Empowered Eviscerate: Increases skill power by 25%.


    Energetic Eviscerate: Decreases cooldown by 20%.


    Powerlinked Overhand Strike: Increases skill damage for the next chain by 25%: Overhand Strike.


    Powerlinked Measured Slice: Increases skill damage for the next chain skill by 25%: Measured Slice.



    IMPROVED: In Cold Blood II


    Increase your Power by 29 for 20 seconds. Attacks against other players deal 10% extra damage and attack speed increases by 8%. Ultimate: Overhand Strike is activated, which has a greater range and deals more damage.


    NEW (PASSIVE): Icy Veins


    In Cold Blood resets the cooldowns for Heart Thrust, Knockdown Strike, and Whirlwind.


    IMPROVED: Evasion Roll II


    Dodge your enemy's attack. This skill can be used twice in succession. The second use must be within 4 seconds of the first.

  • Skill Preview


    NEW: Nova


    Unleash a massive explosion, which deals huge damage to enemies within 6 meter radius and can knock them down. You are less likely to be knocked down or stunned, and take only half damage. Cooldown: 16 seconds.


    Carving Nova: Doubles crit rate for 4 seconds.


    Grounded Nova: Increases endurance by 20% for 15 seconds.


    Energetic Nova: Decreases cooldown by 20%.


    Swift Nova: Increases casting speed by 30%.



    NEW: Warp Barrier


    Cancel all damage for 1.5 seconds and recover 3% of maximum MP per hit.


    Energetic Warp Barrier: Decreases cooldown by 20%.


    Lingering Warp Barrier: Increases effect duration by 30%.


  • Skill Preview


    NEW: Thundering Takedown


    Knocks down enemies around you while moving forward. This skill chains off of Combo Attack. Cooldown: 10 seconds.


    Blazing Thunder Strike: Speeds casting by 25% for Thunder Strike when it is the next skill in the chain.


    Spirited Thundering Takedown; Increases MP regeneration by 20%.


    Energetic Thundering Takedown: Decreases the cooldown by 25%.


    Swift Thundering Takedown: Increases casting speed by 25%.



    NEW: Razing Strike


    Spin your axe to hurl a bolt that knocks down an enemy up to 18 meters away. Cooldown: 16 seconds.


    Spirited Razing Strike: Reduces MP cost by 150.


    Fleetfooted Razing Strike: Increases combat movement speed by 20 for 15 seconds.


    Carving Razing Strike: Doubles the chance of a critical hit.



    NEW: Unbreakable


    Fueled by rage, your HP won't go below 1 for 8 seconds. You can still die if you receive damage that exceeds your max HP in one strike.
    Cooldown: 5 minutes.


    Energetic Unbreakable: Decreases the cooldown by 20%.


    Lingering Unbreakable: Increases the effect duration by 20%.

  • Skill Preview


    New: Zenobia's Vortex


    Unleashes a whirlwind up to 18 meters, dealing damage to all enemies in its path and briefly throwing them into the air, unless they are elite or BAMs. Cooldown: 15 seconds.


    Energetic Zenobia's Vortex: Decreases cooldown by 20%.


    Spirited Zenobia's Vortex: Reduces MP cost by 100.


    Empowered Zenobia's Vortex: Increases skill power by 25%.



    New: Divine Intervention


    Retrieves a party member within 24 meters in front of the caster. Press the skill button once and mouse over to lock on target, then press the skill button again or left-click to retrieve target. Cannot grab an ally riding a mount or beyond an obstacle. Cooldown: 24 seconds.


    Energetic Divine Intervention: Decreases cooldown by 20%.


    Spirited Divine Intervention: Reduces MP cost by 150.


    Spreading Divine Intervention: Increases range by 4 meters.


  • Skill Preview


    NEW: Contagion


    Infects one target within 18 meters, who cannot be purified. They spread a disease that deals 15086 damage per second and decreases endurance by 5%. Players take less damage and recover fewer HP. Using this skill does not automatically start combat status. Cooldown: 2 minutes.


    Lingering Contagion: Increases effect duration by 20%.



    NEW: Vampiric Pulse


    Fire a bolt which deals damage to all enemies in its path and heals party members by 2439 (modified by your heal bonus). Using this skill does not automatically start combat status. Cooldown: 8 seconds.


    Spirited Vampiric Pulse: Reduces MP cost by 225.


    Energetic Vampiric Pulse: Decreases cooldown by 20%.


  • Skill Preview


    NEW: Thunderbolt


    Shoot a concussion arrow up to 24 meters away. The shock will cause damage and knock enemies back. It cannot knock back bosses or BAMs.
    Cooldown: 50 seconds.


    Swift Thunderbolt: Increases casting speed by 30%.


    Empowered Thunderbolt: Increases skill power by 20%.



    NEW: Tenacity


    Call on inner reserves to instantly replenish 360 MP. Briefly increases resistance to stun immensely. Cooldown: 30 seconds.


    Balancing Tenacity: Doubles balance for 15 seconds.


    Spirited Tenacity: 50% chance to regenerate 6% of your total MP every second.


    Energetic Tenacity: Reduces cooldown by 20%.

  • Skill Preview


    NEW: Shrouded Escape


    Cloak yourself in shadow, reducing aggro and becoming invisible. This effect lasts for 5 seconds maximum, and dispels on using a skill or being attacked. Cooldown: 3 minutes.


    Energetic Shrouded Escape: Decreases cooldown by 20%.


    Lingering Shrouded Escape: Increases effect duration by 50%.
