3v3 / pvp understanding guide

  • Awesome guide!

Umm also what about some toughts on 3v3 comps and how should people play in certain comps/ against certain comps/situations. Like the examples you gave with sorc/slayer stuff like that. I think it would be very helpful for begginers and even experienced players to have some guidelines on what they should be doing when something happens , because most people that que arena have no idea how to react to certain situations and even forming teams could benefit.

I thought about this but i also thought that this is pretty much personal preference and i won't really tell to people how to play their compositions and what to do so it doesn't seem too cocky or anything. I could give you my opinion on how to play class x class but not everyone would find it as good advice i guess, while the stuff i focused on here is mostly basic stuff and terms and all which are the same even if you use different words for it.
For situations and all - there are many and its hard to theorycraft.. i think if someone really wants to "know whats happening" but isnt sure and wants to analyze a game just send me a 3v3 round link from some stream or recording and ill tell you what i see and what i think the problem is, altho watching and playing are different and give you a different feeling also~

Well you shouldnt be bothered by stuff like that. People that want to learn need all the help they can get and some guidelines aka what to be carefull or what to do when you're against comp X or situation Y are helpful. People that dissagree can just state their opinion.

For example i dont see how to stop a mystic/zerker/warrior comp when playing priest/sorc/war.

Me tailing the zerker will eventually prove useless as he'll use both his buffs while our priest is slept and our sorc backstabbed. In that situation i will backstab the warrior but if i am too late the cascade would've already went trough and the zerker will land his max hit.

  • I'll give this a read later. I think KD is something I need better understanding of, although composition is too. Often when I'm in solo queue I just think to myself "I have no idea who I should be focusing".

    Wall of text, thanks.

  • lol awesome guide hope it helps the non-ignorant noobs wanting to learn :P

If your sorceror is slept and you're under pressure and you'ré dying, its obvious to more experienced players that cleansing your sorceror is the 2nd highest priority (Highest being: not dying, but being on 10% hp still means you're alive) so he can help you with the people on you. Many healers would just spam heal themself and won't realize that this is bad for the long run.

Unfortunately no matter how many times you tell this to noobs, they still don't get it. It's like cleanse is a skill hurting themselves or something. Or maybe they have it on F12.

You can't reliably desync even with a shield and wasting time to jump with kaia and hoping someone would stun you is stupid. I jumped today in a duel with mana barrier(which i noticed too late) and even if i seemed like i was desynced the warrior still hit me with his full combo, then he stuns me when im not jumping and his combative misses me even tho i wasn't moving.

reposi tool ie repositioning ie 1 dps low hp not in healing range cuz got kd'd away / mistake in positionning / war tunneling healer to other end of world / ...
Run or jump, jump wins esp if bs on cd so no time is wastd here

  • Chaos and button mash

Yea, tera is very chaotic but you can see patterns in the chaos when you become better.. however, even at high level there are some rounds which are pure chaos and button mash. You are not doing anything wrong , thats how it is, just hope that you can outplay people in the chaos so you're left in a better situation after the chaos is gone..

Kinda glad you addressed this. Half the time I feel embarrassed mashing buttons. I guess it's what will happen when priests can heal so well after whittling away someone's health.

  • " get good "

    implying i have to

Please type in english next time... seriously.

  • no tl;dr version? ;-;

"use your common sense and imagination"

all older/good players will tell you the same thing, i mentioned it more than once! ,, i guess i could add "observe and question" as well .. "why did this happen ,why did that happen etc"

It depends on the players really. Different sorcs have different playstyles and some focus more on CC while others focus more on damage. Just because they are mystic zerker warrior doesn't mean they are gonna play it the way you / i imagine it.
I personally dont think mystic zerk warrior is a very scary team but if you take 3 big names on those classes then it'll probably change my mind. I can see all the pros and cons of the team but in tera there are so many ways for a game to end , i can't really devise a gameplan that'll work every time (unless its vs worse players i guess).
Also, currently the FOTM team is Sorc/Warrior/Priest so don't underestimate it, they are not unbeatable by any means but very, very strong. Back in the day the FOTM team was Lancer/Archer/Priest and despite that we still beat them but they were everywhere and very strong...

ive played sorc/warrior a lot and i can see them having an edge in most situations

  • @up. I read what you worked on, and its really nothing new, everybody who plays for 2 months or so should know these things.

  • Prolly but their kryptonite is prolly zerker/warrior/mystic as the sorcerer has no way to stop the incoming damage if the healer is slept , unless he has a really good presence of mind and places a trap beforehand.

  • First : good work you do it there :)

Second : you forgot "Macro" :D cause you actually use it, like your arena mate ;p

    It's illegal nah ? :)

  • 1st youve never ever ever ever met me in arena

2nd what are you even talking about? lol

  • Thanks, if i knew its gonna get sticky maybe i would have gotten in greater detail for more things but the basics are fine too.. people are supposed to explore/learn pvp for themselves after all! This should speed up that process :S

  • Really but really very nice guide, but i ended 3v3 1 year ago. I have question-> why you dont play with Strikeforce gear. Why you are playin with full NF PVP on 3v3, you said skill no gear rite?

Sry for my bad English :blackeye:

EU Killian ------ - NA MT --------- - RU Arun
    Zerk 65lvl ---- Priest 60lvl ------ -Brawler 65lvl
    Slayer 65lvl --- -Lancer 65lv--------- Zerk 65lvl
    Priest 65lvl ---- -Mystic 60lvl
    Mystic 65lvl ---- -Reaper 60lvl
    Archer 65lvl ---- -Zerk 65lvl
    Lancer 63lvl ---- -Sorc 42lvl
    Warrior 65lvl
    Sorc 65lvl
    Reaper 65lvl
    Gunner 65lvl
    Brawler 65lvl
    Ninja 65lvl

    :elin38:

  • I played with strikeforce before i got my NF pvp.

My slayer had only vm2 (pve) weapon and strikeforce gloves and vm1 boots/bloodrave chest for a long time until i farmed my nf pvp. There were plenty of people with better gear..
Plus you seem to be misunderstanding what i said. I said that if you're better than your enemy you can win with even worse gear but if your enemy is around the same skill then you'll need around the same gear. And lets assume you have a skill of 100 and your enemy has a skill of 90, you may be slightly better but if his gear is way better that wouldn't matter. Plus again, we played with a 161 ilvl healer today and still won even with lower "ilvl average"
