A New Class makes its appearance in TERA!

Some of you may already have heard about TERA’s new class and most of you have certainly wondered when this class will be reaching Europe. Today, we are really happy to bring you the news!

The new starting zone, skills, gears and costumes are all coming together, so make sure to stay tuned for further details on our website and don’t forget to subscribe for our newsletter.

We are also happy to offer to our German and French players the opportunity to introduce this new class with a name picked by them! If you have any suggestions or ideas about how the new “Reaper” class should be named in German or French, feel free to send us an e-mail with your ideas to:

The long Argon War left a trail of scars across all of nature.
In a frenzy, Popolion's warrior queen committed her people, herself, and her kingdom to defeating the argon scourge.
Pora Elinu, once the heart of peace, became a munitions factory.
But madness and munitions are a dangerous mix.
A small band of invaders sparked a giant pillar of flame, raining destruction all around, turning Pora Elinu into hell's
playground.
Princess Rida burrowed deep into nature's embrace and mourned her home.
As the princess's tears filled the lake mysterious elins arose.
These dark, yet divine souls swore an oath— "The reapers' blades will cut down the heavens and harvest the light to avenge this blight."

We're gradually edging closer to the release of the new class, and today we have some new info for you!
In March we asked around for suggestions for names for the new Reaper class for the French and German versions. Thanks to everyone for their creative proposals! We had a lot of fun rating, discussing and ranking the responses, but we finally had to come to a decision and pick the winning names:

Players of the German client will be able to mow down their opponents with the shadowy 'Klingentänzerin' (roughly 'Blade Dancer').
Players of the French client will be swinging their scythes to the name of 'Mortiféra' (roughly 'Death Dealer').

We hope you like the new names as much as we do, and are looking forward to an exciting TERA summer!

Greetings adventurer! Great times await you, as we’re getting closer to the reaper update every single day! Soon we will be revealing the actual patch date, but until then we want to inform you about what you’ll need to play this awesome new class!

A character above level 40

In order to be able to create a Reaper, you will need to have one existing character on at least level 40.
Should you already have a character above level 40, your next destination will be the character creation screen! You’ll be greeted by the familiar race selection screen, containing a mysterious new addition, the Reaper!

You don’t yet have a character above level 40 but still want to play as a Reaper? Don’t worry, you’ve still got some days left to get there!

Increased amount of character slots

Additionally to a character on level 40 you’ll also need a free character slot which the Reaper can occupy! Don’t worry if you already have 8 slots full of characters – with this update, the maximum amount of characters slots
you will be able to unlock will be increased from 8 up to 12!

A brand new starting zone

You have a character on level 40 and an unoccupied character slot? Then you’re ready to create your new character and start as a fresh level 50 Reaper in a brand new starting zone – Ashen Hope!

Yes, you got that right, once you’ve created a Reaper character, you will start immediately on level 50! Pora Elinu
has been hit by a gigantic explosion, and now it is your duty to help the people out, as well as get to know your skills! Follow the new quests through this zone in distress, starting with “Immediate Action”, and follow them from level 50 till 58, where you gradually learn how to use your new abilities!

We hope this made the whole process clearer of what you’ll need to do the next few days! Go on now adventurer; get ready to start into a brand new adventure, as the remaining days until the patch gets applied can be counted on the fingers of two hands!

Pre-Patch starts today

You can already start downloading the upcoming update, which is around 2 GB in size. Please note that you won't be able to extract/install the patch just yet, as this will be possible once the final update will hit the game servers.

You’ll have the following options to choose from in the launcher:

• Stop/Resume the download at will, so that you can choose to
  
  • Download until you start the game (so you will have 100% of your bandwidth when you play)
  • Download while you play the game (download in the background)
• Limit the download speed to an amount set by you in the settings

The patch notes 26.04 will be available shortly before the update.

One Free Character Slot for everyone

Together with this update, we will give one free additional character slot to every TERA player! Every one of you will get one additional character slot per account after the update is done, and this is how you can use it:

• After the update, log into any character of the server you want to get one more character slot on
• Access the Item Claim window with this character and claim the “[Server] Additional Character Slot”-item
• The item should now be in your inventory, and you can now use it to expand the amount of free slots by 1
• This item can be used for the slots 3 till 12

This process may take a little while, but every player will have his additional slot a few hours after the maintenance.

Remodeling System gets removed

We’d also like to inform you about the removal of the whole remodeling system with this update, which means that you will no longer be able to put the look of one item onto another equipment part:

• The NPC to change the looks of equipment parts will be removed
• Existing equipment with remodeled looks will keep their changed looks
• Bought templates can be sold to merchant NPCs, but cannot be applied anymore

Hello all again!

It seems to be a small issue when you start the launcher and login while it's still checking the download status, then the Play button gets greyed out.

What you can do is:

• Either wait for the download to be checked and then login
• Either if you login during the check, click directly the Play button before it turns grey.

Hello adventurers!

We would like to share with you some very important information about the application of XP Boosts from the TERA Shop or the TERA Club as well as the Experience Points that you can also purchase in the TERA Shop.

• Experience Points (from the TERA Shop):

Your Reaper will have to follow the Reaper-exclusive storyline to get to level 58. Till level 58 is reached even if you consume any Experience Points, the extra points will not be added to your character, not instantly and not when you finally reach level 58. Please, make sure that you are level 58 before using these points. If it’s one of these
days and you accidently bought (from the TERA Shop and only with your Reaper) and used the experience points on a lower than 58 level Reaper, please contact our Support, they’ll do their best to help you out.

• XP Boosts (from the TERA Shop and TERA Club):

Even if you buy, receive and activate these boosts while your Reaper is not yet level 58 you will not be able to get any advantage from them even if their timer is running. XP Boosts that got activated before reaching level 58 and are still active the moment you reach the level will start working at this very moment but only for the remaining time since their
activation.
