Need Anime Suggestions

Hmm - I've been looking for a good new anime for quite a while and haven't find anything that matches with these animes:

- FMA: Brotherhood
- Blue Exorcist
- D.Gray-man

Anyone has some suggestions that is pretty close to these types of animes ?

Altho the anime I'm watching now is Bleach which is pretty close to these but not exactly what I'm looking for - Still a very good anime tho! Love it.

Next to that I'm also watching "Log Horizon" - Most likely because it is pretty much the same as Sword Art Online which I really loved (Can't wait for the next season for SAO btw :D)

I've seen most of them already tho! And some are on my watchlist like "Black Lagoon, Blood Lad" The other animes are the ones I've already seen Except for "K" and "Jormungand"

"K" is an artistical clusterfuck, nothing else. You can watch it if you really must, but you won't miss anything if you won't watch it. The anime itself is very mediocre (it has boobs and godly art though!); it had a couple of decent ideas, but I don't think the gals behind Studio GoHands (or whatever was it called) actually even tried to make it good.

Same goes for Jormungand. It's a really good series in the beggining, with interesting and credible cast and gray and grey morality in general (or grey and black, to be honest), but as the show moves on, it starts to become less and less reasonable, to the point of actually losing all the credibility it built so hard in the beggining. You can still watch it though; it's a decent anime (as long as you won't focus that much on the small details and just enjoy the show).

Anything based on Humikane Shimada's works should be avoided at all costs.

Blatant fanservice & lack of any decent story & character development. Actually, I'm seriously curious why shows like Strike Witches are born and exist within this plane of existence in the first place.

In other words, that's Humikane Shimada for you. At times I wish he'd use his decent skills elsewhere than simply drawing (the term "producing" fits more though) new batches of similiar looking mecha musume and force them all to shamelessly expose their undewear later on, making the male audiance cry in awe on how many different kinds of panties this universe has.

I think sometimes western community tends to ask too much from some of the animes. MyAnimeList website is good example of that, literally cancer. Thats why I stopped reading reviews and forums and only use it to track my animes. I just watch them myself and then decide if I like it.

In my opinion any anime is worth to watch even if they aren't top masterpieces aslong you enjoy the genres. That might be just me though as I don't really do much else than play vidya gaems and watch animu.

Actually I quite enjoyed watching the ''K'' series even though the plot was quite funny and not that ''deep''. The male maincharacter was probably the reason why I liked it + artstyle. They making movie as sequel to the series btw.

I think it really depends if you are in the ''right'' mood when you are watching specific anime. ( like I can't always watch Slice of life anime if I'm not feeling like watching some stuff like that. Same with ecchi/fanservice)

Might aswell add few good animes I really like.

Perhaps. On the other hand, some of us do know a lot about the gimmicks that basically govern the eastern audience and their highly infantile style of life that later on bears the works like Strike Witches etcetera. I won't comment on that, those are the differences that separate our cultures. But I mostly dislike when people try to pidgeonhole communities into the "east" and "west". In the end you'd see basically how little in the end separates us all as people.

It's all a matter of taste in the end. It's good there's so many choices that can be made. But you'd still wish at times there would be more reason to Strike Witches other than just pantsu.

Speaking of which, Operation Vividred is even way more childish.

Yeah just said western because I used Mal as example and I don't really know that much of what they think about them in east. I guess it's kind of the same but fanservice stuff seems to sell well after all

I think japanese animators should watch more porn. I'm concerned about their anatomy drawing habits.

If you got any better suggestions than K or Jormungand then I'd like to hear it tho, because I'm really looking for good proper Animes that are at same level as the ones I showed

Fetishist shows. If Strike Witches are about different kind of panties (or none thereof), Vividred is all about different types of bloomers a female cast can wear. Rejoice cause that's preety much the sole reason why those shows exist in the first place.

As for more "decent" anime recomendations... I'm not sure what suits your tastes. Last Exile was decent. Fractale was kinda... decent (or maybe just okay, kinda similiar to Jormungand in terms of bullshit levels, but still highly edible). If you're into zombies, Sanka Rea was a nice show with a decent twist (as long as you're capable to digest high ammounts of gratuitous fanservice). I'd highly recommend Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita, though it's propably not a show for everyone. Same goes for Mushishi. Kure-nai was extremely good. Older watchers might take a look at Dororon Enma-kun Meeramera, which is incredibly good as well (as long as you like/understand it well; younger audience will remain completely oblivious to that show). Cashern Sins was a really captivating sci-fi post-apo. If you're into vintage, mystery, fantasy and suspense, you might want to pick Dantalian no Shoka and Gosick.

There's really a lot to chose from and those are only the latest shows that aired either not long ago, or a while earlier. I stopped tracing all the current shows, since there's less and less good stuff coming out with every single new season. Might as well start watching older anime I missed, and I'd recommend you doing the same.
