Patch Notes - TERA Rising (2013)

  • Free-2-Play Modifications

    • Dungeon Drop Changes

      • Equipment can now drop as a masterwork in all the dungeons except for Bastion of Lok, Balder’s Temple (normal/hard), Fane of Kaprima (normal/hard) and Argon Corpus (normal).
      • Additional Masterwork Alkahest drops have been added to the level 58-60 dungeons, but only to the normal monsters. Bosses drop the same amount of Masterwork Alkahest as they did before.
      • All gear will now drop identified.

    • Lucky Boxes are introduced to the game, which can now drop from monsters you slay throughout the world. Those boxes contain different items, which can also be bought in the new item shop. Keys for the boxes can be obtained from the item shop as well. There will also be different contests and events coming up, in order to receive some additional keys.
    • Club members only:

      • Club members will find an additional hot bar in-game as long as they are active paying members. Through this hot bar, they’ll be able to access the additional items and their club mount. You can find the information about the specific items in our comparison chart here.

    • Introduced the Veteran achievement for Veteran players, which grants the “Veteran of the Valkyon Federation” title.
    • Speciality Shops do not sell Masterwork Alkahest or Spellbinds anymore.

      • These items have been added to the following reward boxes:
      • Valkyon’s Response IV, Rescue Supplies, Victor’s Spoils, Challenger’s Aide, as well as Lucky Boxes.

    • Refined Alkahest and Masterwork Alkahest have been removed from the Nexus Reputation Store.
    • Broker changes

      • The fee for putting an item up for sale, as well as the sales tax, has been increased/changed for different account types.
      • Broker price negotiation has been deactivated.
      • You can find out more about the account types in our comparison chart here.

      • When enchanting, the ’enchanting correction values’ do now appear.
      • When you try to enchant an item, and this enchantment fails, a percentaged corrective will be applied. Each time an enchantment fails, this corrective will increase, and thus increase the chance for a successful enchantment.

New 3 vs 3 arena – Champions' Skyring

    • Once you’ve created a 3-player party, you can queue to be matched against another 3-player party in the Champions' Skyring!

      • Your party must have one, and only one, healer class.
      • The same class can’t be in the same group twice, so your group needs 3 different classes.

    • One match lasts a maximum of 3 rounds.

      • The team that wins 2 out of 3 rounds wins the match.
      • Each round has a time limit. Should the round not be won after 6 minutes have passed, the team with the most players left alive wins, or the match ends in a draw if the same number of players remain alive.
      • The match ends in a draw when no team wins two rounds.

    • A new ‘spectator mode’ has been introduced.

      • When you die in a round, you have to wait until that round has terminated before you can revive yourself.
      • When you’re dead, and the round is still on-going, you can enter spectator mode simply by using the ’jump’ key.
      • While in spectator mode, you can see the on-going fight from another player’s perspective.

    • An optional ranking system has been introduced.

      • When queuing for a match, you have to tick the ’Apply to Ranking’ box to be matched against another team in the ranking system.
      • An average rating will be calculated for your team, and you will be matched against a team with a similar rating.
      • Points are scored when winning a match (i.e. winning two rounds). The number of killed players and own deaths does not influence the rating.

    • Differences between the normal and rating systems

      • When queuing in the normal system, Bellicarium Credits are given to the winning team.
      • When queuing in the rating system, Killing Spree Credits are given to the winning team.
      • In order to purchase the new PvP equipment, Killing Spree Credits are needed.
      • These credits can be used at the Killing Spree Quartermaster in Velika, Allemantheia and Kaiator.

    • A special skill is being given to the top ranked players.

      • When using ’Murderous Intent’, your character’s eyes turn glowing red and your armour is surrounded by a black aura.
      • A player’s main stats increase while the skill is active. This skill can’t be used in the battlegrounds.

    • Items and skills

      • Some skills are not allowed in this battleground (Grace of Resurrection, Vow of Rebirth, as well as race-specific skills).
      • Each round, active skill cooldowns will be reset.

    New Enchantment Acceleration System
With this update, a lot of new equipment sets have been introduced which are better than the existing ones before this patch. We felt the need to include a new system to the game which makes it more convenient to players to start upgrading these weapons. As such, two new items have been created, the “Sharan Enchantment Advancer” and the “Arunic Enchantment Advancer”, which you will get by mail at a later point in time, so watch out for our official news on our website!
Using the Enchantment advancers (one for armors, one for weapons), players can remove the enchantment from a T14 item and give an increased enchantment correction to the new item, as shown in this example:

On the left the currently enchanted item, on the right the item which will get the enchantment correction.

The “transfer” window, which you can open up when visiting the legendary blacksmith Muhrak in Habere.
12 Sharan Enchantment Advancers will be needed to transfer a +12 enchantment.

Image after transferal of the enchantment.
The initial item has lost its +12 enchantment, the new item now has a +4% enchantment correction to it until +12.
If this process is used on a +9 item, it will get an enchantment correction up to +9 on the new weapon, up to +10 if a +10 weapon has been sacrificed, and so on.
    New Festivals ahead
Three different festivals will start right after this patch – from the 1st of October 2013 until the 21st of October 2013. So you will have 3 full weeks to smash watermelons, build sandcastles, become a priest of Balder - the god of the sun, and earn awesome rewards, such as this flying carpet:
