You can try changing the Flip Queue Size value to 1
I have no idea where is it sorry because i dont own an ati card.
Also, in S1Engine, search for few things.
1.DisableATITextureFilterOptimizationChecks=True to False
2.MotionBlur=True to False
3.UseHighQualityBloom=True to False
4.MaxShadowResolution=2048 to 1024 or 768
5.CPUNumLogicalProcessors=? to 3(because ur cpu have 3 cores)
and may i knwo what setting and resolution u use in tera?

Ye i have
done all of that.. in open area max 40 fps. in city around 25-30, instances around 15-25 fps but better than before. was Trying to work with in-game settings cus some of them when i lowered them gave me lower fps than on high so did best i could with that aswell. Resolution is 1440x900

Make sure the Lightning Enhanement never over 1 and Real-time Optimization always at 0
My setting is almost max, distance based setting all -1 lighting enhancement 1 realtime 0
Set them to your card capability
WOW. From 25-35 to 50-55 inside town..

I have an AMD Athlon x64 Dual Core 4400+, does the core unpark utility is of use to me?
Can't edit my previous post so here goes:
I tried every single step in this thread... Unpark cpu, change Tera settings with Nvidia Inspector, replace S1Engine ini file, but the game performance is just as it was. I see absolutely no change at all.
Wonder if I'm missing something...
skipped through most of the text.. ![]()
so "-USEALLAVAILABLECORES" option is the same or not as going to 'msconfig' , boot tab then advanced options and checking "number of processors" box and to how many you got in the pull down under it?

I tried your tip with a fresh neutral S1engine.ini (the one I had, not one from the "FPS fix" threads"), rebooted the computer, and.... no difference. Same fps on average. I can lower the details, or max up everything (except the AA setting wich I don't want), and the overal performance is the same.

whats your pc specs? out of curiosity..
My machine:
Windows 7 x64
AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core 4400+ 2.3 Ghz
6 GB ram
150 GB Sata HDD (Windows, games)
300 GB IDE HDD (documents and so on)
Nvidia Geforce 8600 GT (512 MB DDR2)
I use two monitors, but only play no the bigger one; the smaller is only an auxiliary view. I'm about to unplug it before I play Tera just to see, I know there is a game that has an error and closes if I use both monitors, I had to unplug it to play, just don't remember the game's name)

ugh.. ef'in explorer crashed as i was typing this out -.-
your the same as me I got a 4:3 for system info/time etc (and for webpage info during gameplay) and a 16:9 monitor for gaming lol
"AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core 4400+ 2.3 Ghz" this is just to slow now for tera, as new content gets added the game gets bloated and bloated, causing agro for weaker system, lets face it the unreal engine is a joke now, take an example another game i played before tera.
i used to love playing APB preloaded, my old system windows XP 32bit 4gb ram with a 9800GT with 1gb i think, game was on max setting no problems at all, after awhile of content after content update the game became unplayable, ie 2-3 second lag freezes every 2-3 mins of game play, EVEN on an empty server -.- this then forced me to upgrade IF i wanted to play -.- and with my still current pc i got no problems what so ever.
"6 GB ram" honestly i dont think this is enough for current tera 8gb minimum, Win7 can take 1-2gb for services/programs/to run leaving you with roughly 4gb for tera, you didn't say if this is DDR2 either?
"Nvidia Geforce 8600 GT (512 MB DDR2)" this is again another problem from my own view, 8600GT DDR2 is OLD you need something newer with GDDR3 or better, see the specs from geforce below with your card then my card and my card now is classified as mid-low end now -.-
Memory Clock - 700 MHz
Memory Interface Width - 128-bit
Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec) - 22.4
Texture Fill Rate (billion/sec) - 8.6
Memory Clock - 1100MHz
Memory Interface Width - 256-bit
Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec) - 70.4
Texture Fill Rate (billion/sec) - 47.2
like i said before this is my personal view and i've been using PC's since pentium 2 486mhz were out lol and someone will come along and say blah blah blah you have no idea but this is from my own experience.
While I appreciate your help on this matter, I need to say I am perfectly aware of my system limitations, as I have some experience assembling computer parts and solving hardware and software problems.
I play quite well for the low fps I have, but I am planning to upgrade my graphics card. Then, the CPU, that needs a new motherboard, and this by turn, will need a new pair of memory modules, all because of incompatible slots due to hardware evolution. Heck, I will need a new hard drive because my free space is not much. Now you see why I still have this old, outdated, but functional system: I need a full budget to make it Tera-capable, and I ony got a job recently.
About the RAM I have, please allow me to disagree. 6 GB are enough, the other components are more crucial than that. As the graphics card is the only upgrade I can buy without slot problems, that will be my first change, then all the others. And yes, its 6 GB of DDR2.
The mistery here? Why can't I see the difference betwen the low and high detail settings in the graphics options? I'm playing with almost everything on max (AA is Off) and I can still go through crowded dungeons without freezing or crashing issues.
DaKATTman please don't talk about technical stuff when you have no clue, first saying network lag is related to your PC specs and not ISP was just laughable, now 6 GB for TERA is not enough? Seriously?
4 GB is enough, 6 GB or more if you are running background applications too, but no way you need 8 just for TERA.
So, I have 16gb ram...
3 Are always in use(firefox, skype/ts, other backgroundtaska, music player) and need about 1gb.
2gb are always consumed by my internal graphic chip because I´m too lazy to turn it off.
If I´m at nexus Tera uses about 1,8gb ram if I remember correctly.
Else it is about 1-1,5gb.
So, no need for 6gb, or even 8.
My graphic card is pretty old(nvidia gts250)...
But my cpu is an i5, and I have about 50fps, in instances about 30 on 4/5 settings.
Conclusion:
Your cpu is the thing that matters. Though that was already known for, I dont know, 2 years?
U guys can do whatever u want ... u better accept the Fact that Tera is just not optimized and nothing what u do will give a very smooth Tera exp NOT even a GTX 780 Ti SC or a Titan (780 ti is better in Gaming than the Titan) its the Config from Tera thats the problem and not ur PCs at least in most cases... Only Bluehole can solve this Problem but i guess that will never happen so accept the fact that u cant do anything except the Config changes like framerates from True to False etc.
No problem
and you have a same spec with my desktop haha
Quoted from "seriouscat"
ty, helped a lot.
finaly went over 100 fps (in solo instance ofc).
fps in bg was like 28 min.
my pc specs:
i3 530 2.93 Ghz
4gb dd3
60 gb ssd
8800gt 384mb
No problem and you have a same spec with my desktop haha
didnot helped me one bit
I still have 3-25 FPS... my specs are
Core2quad q9400
8gb ddr3
Nvidia 660GTX
shd i belive that connecting from Asia has some relations with FPS or maybe cos slow internet?
Maximum pre-rendered frames = 1
This setting actually increased delay on character control like skills & movement etc.
Also personally I don't like to use vsync as I don't see any fps improvement for it, but it might work for others.
It's obvious CPU optimization is the key to greater fps for many of us here, a guide on commands to reduce CPU stress/workload could work wonders.

Most in-game settings are primarily relying on GPU power, and since you got a good GFX card you should be fine graphics settings wise.
There are however some settings you can adjust to make CPU workload less, such as shadow quality and view distance, try this:
Video settings: PC View Distance: 3, PC Limit: Up to 50, Shadow 0/1
Just these 3 settings increases my FPS by around 5-20.
This stuff helps very little for gameplay though if you have a constant high latency.
I prefer lag because I need an excuse if I die. ![]()
