Hello everyone,
some of you might still remember the news that Gameforge is going to close down its Berlin based office. As a part of this step there are some changes and adjustments necessary for all the games which were “based” in Berlin. Not long ago we switched our forum software and also parts of the team were already switched with members from the Karlsruhe office (QA, IT, etc.).
Now it is time for this switch in the Community Management as well. I’ll be leaving Gameforge after 5 long years and won’t relocate to Karlsruhe and the Gameforge office over there.
I also wanted to quickly inform you about your new English Community Manager “Anemsalok”. Anemsalok will be available for you starting next Monday, the 22nd of July 2013. Furthermore Atmorph will stay with TERA, as he is already a part of the crew in Karlsruhe.
So much for the “facts”, in case you want some more in-depth stories, you can feel free to continue reading.
Good old times
Throughout the 5 years at Gameforge I saw quite a lot of people coming and going and a lot has changed in that time. I was with TERA since the very beginning, even before we were building up a Team internally. The great chance to see Arborea in a very early state and hear about the ideas from the developers, was a great experience.
I will for sure remember the very special moments with all the guilds, fansites and community members. We had visitors in our office, community meetings in Berlin with players from around the world, community gatherings during Gamescom and a lot of other great moments to share. It would take way too much time and space to name all the great guild members, leaders, fansite members, former and current mentors and players, as well as TERA team members, which have been an essential part of TERA throughout the past years. It was a pleasure to be a part of this community and team and to accompany the development from early test stages until the final release of TERA.
Of course there were also some difficult times throughout the past years, be it due to the delay of the release date and other issues we faced in the past. Still I never wanted to miss the great time everyone had and the moment when all the previous work was rewarded by getting my hands on the first Collector’s Edition package and to see all of you entering the world of TERA and filling Arborea with your own stories and life.
At the end I want to thank all former and current fansite team members, guilds, Mentors, CMs and Team members and of course every single player and community member. You provided us with a lot of feedback, ideas and helpful information and without you TERA wouldn’t be the same. Your help and enthusiasm made TERA one of the most successful MMOs out there and a 2nd home for many of us.
A bright future ahead
I’m sure that all of you will still have a lot of fun with and within the world of TERA. The recently introduced battleground with siege weapons was just the beginning and you can look forward to new events, more exciting dungeons and the alliance system all coming throughout this summer.
I’ll take my leave now and don’t forget to be nice to the remaining and new team members of TERA!
