European tests of TERA – Get ready to rock!

  • We know you all are eager to finally lay your hands on TERA, that’s why we want to give you an update on the whole testing process for TERA in Europe, the first step of information you all waited for is finally here!

As you should all know by now, TERA recently launched in Korea and already received a first content update, which added two additional dungeons to further improve the endgame experience for players. TERA is a huge success so far in Korea and we now want to take the game to the next step, by delivering the first European test session to you.

Today we want to inform you about the schedule for the first test of TERA in Europe, so you will be able to see, what we have been working on, since our last big test at gamescom and the Paris Games Week. The first thing you might want to know is who will take part in this test session?

We’ll invite our most dedicated fans of TERA, choose some of our active forum members, invite guild members and fansite staff members, as well as the winners from our official contests. So, we want to thank everyone, who participated actively in our forums, helped us out with great ideas and feedback and supported TERA as a guild prior to its launch or gatherd and prepared information for the Community as a fansite member.

This first test will happen in March 2011, so you won’t have to wait that long any more, to finally enter the world of TERA! We’ll then run a couple of further test sessions, with even more people, to help us improve the game even further and to test possible improvements made to the game itself.

We’ll reveal more details about the test sessions in the future and also keep you updated, as soon as we’ll send out invites to our first test in March 2011.

We have a lot to do and we’ll need your help to ensure the best possible experience for TERA in Europe. The waiting time is now almost over and we are eagerly awaiting your feedback and impressions for the upcoming tests of TERA.

You can find the Announcement from En Masse for North America right here.

Some additional information about the test session:

    • We'll run a couple of test sessions, before we enter a "real" closed beta in Europe
    • For the first test we will invite active forum members (meaining people who participated in a positive way in discussions, helped other members, dropped constructive feedback, ideas, etc.)
    • We'll also invite staff from fansites, guilds, contest winners and a couple of others ;)
    • If you participated in a NA FGT, you'll be invited to the next test session from EME again
    • Due to the data protection policy we can't freely exchange personal data between companies
    • We'll reveal more information about the upcoming test in the future
    • We'll maybe have special beta forums for our testers, this will help us to gather feedback on special topics

2nd Update - A new email with links to the client download has been sent today (29.03.2011)

Today we have sent out another email to all invited players, which contains access data to the download area, so you can start with the download of the client for the upcoming test. We'll publish more details in a separate news.

  • WOW!!! Just WOW!!!
Good job, hope the test will end as a success, and maybe an open beta will come!
    Go Go Tera!!!

  • About time, I'll track you down irl if you just gave me a false hope and we won't see the finished product until the autumn or later! Anyways, do I need to sign up for this somewhere, or...?

  • Great news! The fun begins for us, and between FGT and Betas, we will have Tera in our hands without realizing it.

    Thanks for the news!

  • Good news! :D I had marked the March as the month of Crysis 2 release, now it's marked as the month of the first EU test!!! :D
What are we gonna test in this run Raven? Just the servers for start? Something else?

  • Great! Finally! Can't wait! I have birthday in march lol

Then if you get access into the test, this is going to be your birthday prize! :p

  • YESSSSS. looks like March will be filled with TERA, exciting, even if i probably won't be invited i'm looking forward to lots of new info and screenshots and videos and new forum activity.

    Qs:
will the EU tests be held on the exact same days as NA?
will the European NA-FGT members be automatically invited for the EU tests?
do Frogster have proper servers set up already, like En Masse?
will members be chosen from both tera-online.com forums as well as the European forums? (as there are lots of active European players on the NA forums..) if not then i guess that means there's a bigger chance of getting into the EU tests than NA?
how many players are you looking to invite? 200~?

    Hello Logan,

no, for the first smaller tests we going to inform and pick the participants manually. So be nice and polite to me the next weeks! ;)

  • Awesome news guys ^^ It just so happens my birthday is in March... xD See you all soon!

  • Amazing! THX TERA Team.Love you all.

    Yeahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Hahahaha

  • Just to answer some of those questions so they are not repeated.

    1. We can't confirm any exact date or time for the tests yet. There may be differences between the EU and NA test times.

    2. Members are chosen from our forums and not the NA forums, because, it is the EU test afterall.

and remember, March 2011 is the time to TERA it up (bad anagram intented) to the point where Europe doesn't even know what hit it!

  • Great news! It is very positive that the companies that promote TERA for the Western market understood the need to keep the game in touch with its future fans. If those months passed without any tangible event, things would really cool off. Now the heat can be turned on (and be kept on!). Can't wait for the events (crosses fingers :) )

    :chainsaw:

  • Good new, i'm already in the NA fgt but i'm curious to try Tera in Europe too with a better ping and how a low latency play expecially in pvp.

Just for curiosity, if someone has already the Na client (or Eu client) and want to switch he must re-downloading the entire client again or is possible have a patch to change the IP servers?
I ask because Na and Eu will be the same identical version if i'm not mistake.

  • @Raven

Im a NA FGT member, will i get invited to the EU version? we didnt had the EU forums when we did the first 2 FGT, so its a bit unfair to lose a spot when i already provide useful and constructive feedback before.

If the spot is not a guarantee where can i find the application form for the EU version, or dont we have one?
