Ohh, peeps! It's not about money, it's about an in-game reward that's just a server command or sql query, and it's completely free for GameForge. This is why we are incensed.
Most artists think it's even harder to copy a work than creating a new from nothing. Why? Because your own work is in your head, and you can change it as you want, but copying is about checking the copied work more often whether your work looks like that. It takes like 5 times more time than using your imagination. So, no-one would draw in a given concept and make a copy from something for such a reward.

Come on now, that’s not how competitions are supposed to work. It’s a pretty poor trade if it had been a trade and as a competition it seems like it borders on mocking. A competition is supposed to be about a prize good enough to risk doing all that work for nothing in case you don't win. Nowhere in the Conditions of Participation does it say that this is limited to them using the pictures for one month. One month in game but unlimited use on their sites.

I never said that I dont like draw/paint/ I LOVE make it but I can make art and get money so why I should make art and get 30-days mount?
I always choose money+fun because I must buy food, paid taxes and more. Im not eating clouds and draw arts with one 10-years old crayon. All artists invest their money to get better artist stuff. IT COST.I bought program to make digital arts. IT COST. Why I must spend my time and my money to get 30-day mount? In my opinion its not fair.
They get permission to make everything what they want to with my art and Ill got just 30-day mount? PHE! Art with rules like this cost 300€ and more not 30-day mount in game.
So we have 2 groups.
1st: I do arts just to have fun and Im not a professional artist.
2nd: I dont wanna support "make free art and shut up" contest. I think we need to inform community that make art is not like 5-minutes of nice, easy walk. Its WORK. I dont want free food in shop and free medicine in chemist's shop. Im not stupid. So why so many ppl think that they should get our WARD WORK for free? Dunno.
Now we must wait for some Admin or Mentor to get answer and later all of as can decide.
SO WHERE IS TERA FORUM STAFF?

For a lot of people drawing is their career.
@Kawaikunai: Artists who work for money are just as much passionate and love to draw, that's how they get to that level. Please do not be ignorant, they don't have to crawl to their knees for opportunities.
Do not underestimate them and show them respect. They are not greedy, selfish, ungrateful or any of that nonsense. It takes years of practice and passion for them to even get to that level.
If the contest is expecting concept art level skills for this contest for some in game temporary mount then that is ridiculous. Concept art takes many hours and days to complete, hence they get paid to do it. You think the Tera concept art was done for free? It is a full time job.
i think a thaler reward would have been more respectful. Its only a few winners after all.
There is a fine line between hobby/amateur artists and professionals, but professionals were also once upon a time amateurs and hobby lovers.
Anyways goodluck to people doing this contest. However do not pressure yourself to work your self too hard just do it for fun.
What I do agree is they should just walk away. There is plenty of awesome contests you can get from deviantart/conceptart/polycount etc.
This is just not the place for it.

This year I must buy Intuos5 M or L and its not cheap thing in PL.So everyone wanna free art but artist must get money from the sky to buy artist tools

Bueah it's not that then this contest is good will of gameforge. THEY HAVE TO DO IT. KTERA 1st amde it. Next TERA US, and on the end TERA EU. More over they get pernament, and vluable prizes. Honestly. I wont put much effort to make work for u. And more over. Informations about what to raw are poor as hell to. "Design an original piece of art (no screenshots will be allowed", design aagain what have been ardy designed? Buaah. no imagination to do that. put some flowers or smthing.
Poor, and boring as hell. On US they at least make "good or bad side of ur character" -
I think you ppl should claim down with this complainst about revard. It does not seems as event for crowd, but for artists who do looking for good start. Look, that is not event about mod screenshot or use arleady used art but something completly oryginal and new. If someone will create rly good art work, and it will be used by GF or BHS - this person will get right to use it as art used in profesional game industry. IMO very useful thing for an beginner artist's portfolio.

If this is modding a screenshot or editing an existing art, then I think the prize of a 30day mount fits pretty well. also it would be better if they pick at least 5. <_<
This was suppose to be my entry, but really lost my drive to finish it.... XP
I know it not the best... but still took me about 4 days to do this. =_= (I use only mouse)I wished they added like 5 slots for consolation prize of 100TT. Instead of only 1 winner.... XP

Xenosnake if I can give you some advice try to make shadows not with air brush and use another cold colours to make darker parts. Its not like "put some black to get darker part".
