Character Transfer Service coming up: Wednesday, 27.02.2013

  • So new servers will be attracting people who failed in endgame pvp on big servers, want a cheap server first pve accomplishment or want to dominate the economy?

    Surprise surprise.

Well. Yes, actually. But I'm not a regular on these forums.

Actually, you can come to the low servers dominate for a month or so get everything possible easy rank ones etc, then go back when they unlock the servers and add in paid transfer, which they will do in the future

    lulzy month

  • If I would have wanted to ruin the new servers economy, I would have just created a new character there and go straight to do MCHM. Sure you can't take gear with you, but if you have the experience and skills for that dungeon, I'm fairly sure you can even do it in quickly acquired T13.
Farm MCHM for a week and then straight to dominate CoF.

Really its not like we needed server transfers for this. Relax and don't freak out yet.

economy is shaped by supply and demand. amount of money on the market is importand too...
economy depends from players, not gf.

whatever gf do if players dont want buy items for prices - prices will drop. if they want and there is not much of those items on market - prices will rise. when prices will rise to unnaceptable value players will not buy them - prices will drop. etc etc.

so for some players it will be good change, for some players bad. in most cases it will be good to those on new servers because they will have items on trade broker. now they cant buy i.e. fraywind set because there are no fraywinds on trade broker. now maybe someone will want sell them on new servers. probably for high price, but there is demand on those items. that will be bad change for those on new servers who selling items for high prices because now they will have competition. so whats wrong with that? that someone will have oportunity to buy or sell items on new market?

Let me explain it for you with an example:

Let's assume you were producing cars in your country and selling them. Then suddenly some companys show up from nowhere with magical factories that can produce cars that are faster, more fuel efficient and cheaper to build. Suddenly those people domiante the market and you can only try chasing after them, but they already have a massive economical advantage. Then they buy up all your cars and your factory and sell the cars themselves. This is what happens when a large amount of currency and goods that come from nowhere suddenly flood a market.

What you create is a two-class environment on new servers where there are minority of transfered players who dominate economy and PvP and the original players who have to play by the rules of that minority.

That feel when me and my 3v3 team are going to transfer from killian to balder or zuras with our VM+counjuct gear, ladder is going to be hilarious

That feel when you realize that with you out of the way people on killian will progress probably faster when your Battleground + 3v3 Ranking Resets :o

And when you come back everyone will have equal gear (because I don't see paid transfers coming into the shop until at least another month...at least)

I know you were trolling but this is to anyone who thinks that will be a good idea :o

  • To late now GF for trancfers you always 10 steps behind other Tera companys and always will be.
And 2nd almost no one or very few ppl will tranfer now from high populated servers the rest who will stay will continue cry about lag cus of high population.Cos of stupind ppl like those who cry about lag on nexus but still SPAM on chat to make it worse..Yeah humanity....

according to that example, thats good for buyers, right? ^^ They will get faster, more fuel efficient and cheaper cars.

  • my god...at first they q.q its cloudy but then cry about sun hurting the eyes.
server transfers are what COMMUNITY asked for. actually for the first time i see GF doing this, responding to community request. i praise the day!

bout the so-called economy and items. someone cried about shitty pvp gears on newly created servers because of....lack of end game players and inability to finish nexus. you're deep in the a$$ 3 month if not more behind other servers. migrations may balance it, allow newbie servs to do nexuses and bring to market end game gear which will help playerbase to accomplish end game content.
economy? what economy? theres no relative gold sink utility since masterwork alkahests and spellbind are gone. that is currently pain in the butt of the end geared players. best way to get masterwork alkahests is doing.....lvl 58 instances. getting spellbinds to lux gear is limited to.....queuing with IM tool. as long as there will be no return of those 2 to speciality stores feel safe as end game players are stuck. i know from own experience. i was about to lux my mw regent twins but when now i calculate for one attempt to reroll i need ~16k gold its thanks but no thanks (compare it to 500g before f2p launch.) one attempt to plus equip beyond +9 ~2,5k gold -.-' in my opinion if one was able to +12 his gear and lux it, it is gone with f2p launch and no server transfer will change it. and what will fully +12 mw VM/regent players do that much harmful to new servers? i do see the threat in pvp channels with them owning undergeared adversaries although it was and is happening all the time (points @ lumbertown.) BGs have pools consisting of old+new servers anyway so unless you get your gears fast or you will be ALWAYS behind others. and in some future there are plans to come with SvS events and shared continent. gonna cry then how unfair it is?

also everyone who use their brain can find a hole in the system. ofc endgame players can go to newly created servers and manipulate the economy (tho if your so much against it, just dont buy items from ah, prices eventually will drop and you will accomplish your i wanna be deep in the a$$ point) and for some time (~2 months dominate ladders) but as well some guild from new server can collect all their gold, send one lvl 15 char to buy items, pass it to other one in order to transfer gears back to original guild and voilà. they have end geared farming team in their guild able to gear up others.
OH MY GAWD that will screw up my server im playing on as some noobs from others servers will come to my server and buy out all stuff im hardly collecting gold on T.T

    tldr;
i know it doesnt look amazing, but thats what big part of community asked for and what got listened to. and that part didnt ask for it from economical point of view. problems you name are not that much valid in long terms (in my opinion) and if the biggest argument you can come up with is economy then dont open broker and play with items you farmed yourself.

have u bought anything at endgame? like Regent set for example? There's a good example how it went "down" in NA, after the transfers were introduced, the price for endgame Regent gear in MT(oldest pvp server) have tripled. it will be a disaster for a new players here in EU... So how is this not a publishers fault?
proof - NA prices (before/after the free transfers): http://imgur.com/a/2LDCi#0

Supply and Demand doesnt work in Tera anymore, there's nothing for old endgame players to buy, with 0% taxes (club membership) they can keep those overpriced items on the broker for months. Inflating the market even further... And theres no way a new guy who started on the server that is 2weeks old can afford 100.000g weapon, the gap between the buying power of 2weeks old player and 1year old player is tooooo big...

All the buyers have jobs aswell though. we are talking about a small society with a small numbe rof possible businesses which are ALL affected in the same way by this same event

  • Good stuff, lets see how servers become in a few weeks, maybe a lot of people from killian and ishara go to other servers where competition is less severe ? xD

Oh yea ? put on broker regent then for hight price and i will see you if no1 will buy it for that price you ask for it what you will do if you lower it or not.If ppl are idiots and buying for high prices items its they falt about economy

  • Quote from Kyllah;2473454

I'm on Zuras and as a guy who spends most of his ingame time on a trade brooker, I feel like quiting now.
They should do transfers like they were on enmasse.

yes you should quit because everyone on killian has full VM +12 And s##tloads of Regent gear that they will come with and will have 100+ diamonds that they will sell and outbuy everything you have put on the broker and then bump those prices up leaving you broke and destitute.

Seriously people stop f###ing qqing about server transfers "oh no I won't be able to control things or beat other people"
I find it very hard to believe that a PVP server has more people in VM +12 then a goddam PVE server.... -.-

Honestly you really think new players on Killian don't face this problem of getting GearRolled by VM +12? Or by overly high prices?

Not everyone on killian is full VM. Those that are, are known for their lack of skill anyway so they cannot pose a threat to anyone in equal gear.

And besides all the pvp servers are in the same POOL so you would face us anyways.

    so

1.WE fight each other anyway in the pvp pool.
2.There's no different gains between being on a pve - pvp server bar Experience with PVP and Open world PK.
3.There's always shitheads that Piss around on the broker and PVP servers are always more expensive when it comes to pve because we ####ing hate pve. Most of us do anyway.
4.PVE Servers should have WAY more pve gained gear (visionmaker) then the pvp servers because they do a lot more of the dungeons I WOULD IMAGINE seeing as it's a pve server. If not then wtf do you do all day on there?! Fraya.

  • They already help clearing the hard dungeons thru matchmaking BAM burn, that means the prices will fall down dramatically because of supply of new items or the newcomers will earn more money than they would in Killian.
This was the only decent decision not to let server transfer at the start but now all the outcast from killian will come to new servers where people are small lvls and can easly take guild vs guild vanarchs because of the gear and destroy the current OW competition.

  • Wow, so much QQing and hate. Really people? Gameforge FINALLY does something good, and even for free, and they get this? No wonder we never get anything.

Just want to say thanks Gameforge! I, for one, am happy about server transfers. I was quite furious when you didn't provide the service from the start like NA did, because I used to play on Killian but a lot of my friends joined the game at F2P launch, so I wanted to play with them, however, due to the queues on Killian, they were forced to roll on Veritas. I then rolled a new character on that server as well to play with them, but obviously kept missing my old characters as I had put months of work into them. I'm glad I can finally transfer my old character to Veritas, so I can play them again and thus help my friends on them as well. Don't really have anything left on Killian anyway, the good old Essenia days are long gone. Now it's just a laggy shitfest full of annoying egocentric kids, and a messed up economy (returning players with outdated gear and low amount of money have it very difficult to get back on their feet due to the insanely high prices).

Yes, I do understand it can harm the new servers and their economy, but let's face it, the economy on those servers is messed up anyway (absolutely no fodder whatsoever on Veritas for example, making upgrading extremely difficult and expensive). If older players do indeed transfer to those servers and bring items with them, yes they have the ability to control the market a little bit, but they will also introduce items that we had no access to and will provide higher-end items long-term thus dropping market prices, which is good. I don't see a huge issue in PVP unbalance, as it was already unbalanced with the server pools anyway. Now at least we would be able to hopefully upgrade our items to stand a chance against the older servers in BG's. Also, we might finally actually be able to do Nexus and NT! There were simply not enough people before.

Again - thank you Gameforge. And a special thanks for making the service free. It would've been outrageous to ask money for something that's not the player's fault (for inability of joining their friends or simply making the wrong decision of server at launch).

    Cheers.
