We’re happy to announce that we’ll be able to offer a limited free character transfer service starting on Wednesday, 27th of February 2013*.
With the huge increase of our player base and the additionally opened game servers, we can now also offer a character transfer option. This will help us to balance out the population on our game servers and reduce waiting times.
Update - 12.04.2013 - IMPORTANT
The free character transfer option will be closed at the end of Monday, 15th of April 2013.
The character transfer will be offered later that week through our shop, as a service in the item shop. Please note, that you'll need to buy it with TERA Talers at that point.
Please take note of the following points in regards to the free character transfer option:
- A character can only be transferred once for free, so be sure to pick the right server before you decide to transfer!
- The paid character transfer option will be made available at a later time
- The free character transfer is only available through the account management system on our website
- We added a new button in the account management system for the transfer option
The following restrictions will apply:
- Characters must be level 15 or above
- A maximum of 50,000 Gold can be moved with the character
- Only items equipped and in the inventory of the character will be moved with the character to the new server
- The bank items will not be moved with the character, as they are account bound
- Your character has to leave its current guild (if your character is part of a guild)
- You cannot transfer if you’re currently a Vanarch
- You must have a free character slot available on the destination server (especially important if you are a free user or a free user with TERA Club membership, where only two slots are available on each server)
- You must check/read all mail in your in-game mailbox before trying to set up a transfer
- You have to remove all pending items from the trade broker before initiating the transfer
- Your battleground ranking won’t be transferred to the new server
- Club items / the package of club items in the item claim menu won't be transfered with your character
Additional information:
If your character name is already in use on the destination server, you’ll need to rename your character before you can log in on the new server. The renaming is of course free of any charge for you in this case.
The transfer will be completed within a couple of minutes and you’ll be able to access your character very soon on the destination server.
If you transfer from a PvP to a PvE server, you might experience an outlaw circle below your character. This is a display bug which will be fixed in the future. In most cases, the issue is fixed automatically if you log out and back in again.
Another known issue is that the outlaw skill book currently cannot be used or discarded if you have it in your inventory at the time of the transfer from a PvP to a PvE server.
In case you would like to transfer more than two characters, please note that you'll need to enter the game with your characters once after the transfer is finished for those two characters. If you won't do this, you won't be able to transfer more than two characters.
Please note: The free character transfer is only available through the account management system on our website. The free transfer option is limited to one use for each of your characters. We’ll offer a character transfer option later on as a paid premium service in our shop.
