TESTED FPS Fix

  • Hi all,

    i have a question for you, can this "guide" help me for better fps?
    In whhm have around 40-60 fps, in bg (on mid fights) my FPS drops to 25-50 ... I do not want to have less than 40...
    My present = 5, can help mi this changes to higher FPS (+5-10 in BG)?

    Will these changes in the ini file such an influence that the game will not look so nice?

    Nope. The only part of this guide that might actually help you is the part about core unparking and that only works for Intel users. Othat than that everything written here is pretty much the same you can achieve by lowering your ingame settings. If you have a very old GPU tho, I would suggest to drop everything except PC number to 0. That way you will avoid having a 5-10 fps drop. If you're playing on anything above AMD Radeon 4770 (old as hеll) or nVidia Geforce GTX 275, your problem is not GPU related, hence this guide is pretty much useless.

  • Well im Playing with an HD 6750 OC, but my GPU goes up to 99% utilization if i play at full Graphic Settings in some cases. For example the 3rd Boss in WHHM, where one Group need to go upstairs to open the grid.
    If i get my Graphic to 0, i don't have any problems an my GPU utilization will be at ~70.
    So i think it belongs to my Graphic Card, i never done anything from this Guide.

    I don't know the exact FPS, but it runs smoothly. I just noticed some problems at specific locations, like mentioned above.

    Intel I5 4x3,4Ghz
    8GB Ram
    Biostar H61MLV2 Mainboard (FSB not specified)
    AMD HD Radeon 6750 OC (Gigabyte)

    Am I right or are there other factors I have not considered?

  • That's cause your particular gpu has incredibly sad memory controler. Not to mention it has 1/2 of the texturing capabilities of the ones I mentioned as ok. In all honesty it's on the level of gtx 260rev2.

    i have
    CPU: intel i3570k (without OC)
    VGA: Radeon 7870 XT 2GB (975/6000Mhz =>> OC 1100/6100Mhz) - last drivers
    RAM: Kingston Hyperx lovo 2*4GB kit 1600Mhz

    i was trying unpark CPU, but i don see any changes, yes on use CPU yes all cores bout 40%-50% in game, but fps...are +- same ... this unpark is permanent? or i must unpark cores until start Tera?

  • I just changed this option:

    I changed this to "Perfomance".

    ...and I can't believe how much FPS improved! It gave me a drastic boost!!

  • Intel i-7-3630QM (8 logical cores) 2.4GHz (clocked a bit), 8GB RAM, GPU: GT 650M (clocked a bit), win 8.1.

    i7-3630QM = 4 cores and 8 threads .

  • gpu and cpu under 50% all time = 30 fps ... dunno why...

  • My Game's folder don't have S1 files, neither S1 files, only defaut files =/

  • Voted "THANKS DUDE!!"

    Specs:
    Dell Latitude E6540
    CPU : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4800Q CPU @ 2.70GHz
    MEM : 8GB DDR3
    GPU's :
    - Primary Windows GPU : Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 (Latest Driver version : 9.18.10.3204)
    - Secondary Game GPU : AMD Radeon HD 8790M (Latest Driver version : 13.250.18.0)

    PRE-Fix : 35 FPS on Preset 4 (Shadows and Aerial lowered to setting 1)
    So it's playable, but degrading after about 15 minutes of playtime and even faster in instances, down to 5-10 FPS

    POST-FIX : 40 FPS, settings from instruction, shadows on 1
    No degradation
    Instance FPS : 25-35

    Me Happy :)

  • Hey,

    got a strange here. With a few tweaks in the ini i could get a few FPS. But eg. Battleground is still kinda stuttering.

    The strange thing i recognized is that even i set Graphics to the minimum, there is no actual improvement on FPS. :/

    I got an i5@33 GHz, NVidia GTX 460 1GB, 8 GB RAM, SSD. :/
    Any suggestions it could be?

  • not working.... low or high graphics setting is same. 13 fps in city, 2-3 in instances. I dont know what can i do more....
    why cant solve the problems the game creators? Lot of people cant play normal because they are idiot and lazy. This game could be the best if you solved the FPS problem. :sniper:   :sniper:   :sniper:   :sniper:

    cpu: Phenom X3 720 be
    ramg: 6Gb
    VGA: Saphire 7770 1 gb

  • I was first skeptical about this guide
    but once i done it
    WOW
    graphic are high and the game run very smooth

    i didn't realize why my game get low FPS i have i7 8gb DDR3 and nvidia geforce gt635m 2gb
    after i done that, well, thank you!

  • thx for the guide,

    it helped to improve my global fps in action.

    from 10-25 (+some freezes) to 10-30 (+some freezes) in Velika (no global change)
    from 15-30 to 20-40 in some regions
    from 40-80 to 60 in some regions

    my gig :

    Amd Phenom II X4 965BE
    4 Gb Ram 800 DDR2
    NVidia GeForce 560 TI OC 1 Gb
    Windows7 64

  • I'm just here to share my experience how i've increased my FPS drasticly. I used SOME tweaks from many optimization guides i've found, but i wanted to touch as less things as i can to boost my performance.

    So:

    1. Unlocked the FPS in the S1Engine.ini file:
    bSmoothFrameRate=FALSE
    UseVsync=True

    Disabled the mouse smoothing in the S1Input.ini file:
    bEnableMouseSmoothing=false

    2. Putted my GPU on optimal performance.

    3. Added my actual cores number (4 in my case) by putting the following line in the S1Engine file:
    Right Bellow
    CompatLevelGPU=
    CPUNumLogicalProcessors=## (## For the number of your cores.)

    So my line looked like this:
    CPUNumLogicalProcessors=4

    No parking, no nothing.
    The game is running smooth now with noticable jump in frames. Above 60fps pretty much everywhere (1280x720 on the last preset). If i need even more frames on huge battles, i just check the Low performace dimming in video options menu in the game. Keep in mind, that this option makes the HUGE impact on framerate.

    My rig is low budget too:

    AMD A8 X4 6600K @ 3.90GHz
    4 GIGs of RAM (cheap one)
    AMD Radeon HD8570D

    Good Luck! 8)
