TESTED FPS Fix

as I have tested myself, I said on first post, on both win7 and win8, FPS is the same.It`s not a win8 issue at all.

Guide updated for nVIDIA GT/GTX users.It seems forcing AA and tempering with other settings AA related via nVIDIA Inspector helps keeping the FPS more constant and also increase GPU usage. Download the updated guide from the first page.

As for AMD(ATI) users, you should search for an option in your driver app that lets you force AA for TERA or find a tool similar to nVIDIA Inspector but made for AMD Video Cards.

guide updated :

- removed forcing of AA via nVIDIA Inspector.It does remove the rough edges and apparently improves FPS, but just for a while, after a longer period of gameplay FPS tends to go down.

Reset the profile for TERA to default settings, via nVIDIA Inspector and reboot PC.

I think this is were it all stops.I don`t think the game can getter any better than that.I checked almost every tweak possible.

I hope nVIDIA will release a beta driver at least, with performance optimizations for TERA Online.

Better than nothing I guess

Hey... I did try ur guide and game fps are alot better! Game feels much smoother. But I have one issue... every 20-30sec ingame I get 1-2 sec lagg/game almost stops (it feel like loading area) then its all good. I tried to change every possible option ingame... but no succses. What can be causing that issue. Pls help me asap. TY

PS: I'm playing on: procesor i5 2,3ghz, ati radeon HD5650, 8gb ram

strange, try to delete the config files again, overwrite with my config file, do the video settings in game from my guide and see if it solves the problem.No idea why it behaves like that.

It seems it also solved the low fps in instances also, tried Argon Corpus and Kelsaik`s Nest.Up to 50 FPS when not fighting and between 25-40 FPS when fighting. Before I had as low as 3 FPS as I stated before.

The only reason this guide wouldn`t work for someone is if they have a low-end PC (cpu, ram, video card etc..).

Well I also experience some problems with my FPS usually I get about 12-17 in instances and 25-30 in open world.
I run the game on my laptop Asus N76VZ and it has:

i7 2.2gz
8GB RAM
nVidia GT650M 2GB

even though it's a laptop it's still pretty powerful and should be able to run the game smoothly. So after following this guide you think my performace will improve?

hello

I changed way too many parameters so unfortunately I cant tell you EVERYTHING i`ve changed but from what I can remember I changed, bloom, bsmoothframe, vsync, shaders, textures and blur.There may be more than one line for each of them.

of course you can, S1Engine file has nothing to do with the UI.

My story. Ok so i tried everything ( almost) what was written in your guide still got so low fps that couldnt do any instances. So mad i was that wanted dont play this game anymore. In morning thought need to try one last thing install older nvidia drivers, deleted from add/remove , downloaded your offered drivers trying install. Sad cant find Nvidia card. WTF? Thought maybe drivers not for my gt540m 1gb. So took laptops cd with all drivers and trying install from it same thing. Gone to controll panel to check if i deleted evrything from nvidia drivers. Saw physx drivers deleted them, tried install drivers it worked. Gone nvidia controll panel select physx proccesor Geforce Gt 540m trying tera, instances oho 20~30 fps atleast playable now. So dont know really what helped with my tera.Now got nvidia drivers 268.56 , all settings default in 3D and in .ini. Checked add/remove there is no more physx drivers from nvidia wich you get installing new drivers. My PC laptop asus i5 2410m 2.3ghz gt540m 1gb and 3GB RAM (i now its low so got memory cleaner when playing tera) but now i can play atleast and do dungeons not on best settings but not on worst. 40-50 fps on map and 20-30 instances. Maybe it helps somone.
