TESTED FPS Fix

  • to force nvidia to run tera, when the option box is greyed out, you need nvidia inspector and delete the tera profile. then create another profile in the nvidia control panel and it should work.

Even if when running on nvidia graphics the FPS is too low, try downloading the 320.00 driver BETA, it worked for me.

  • I don't have that setting either.

Also I have 20-30 fps, which isn't enough for me and my specs are as follows:

Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260
    Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9550 @ 2.83GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
Memory: 4094MB RAM (I admit 4GB is a bit low, but it should be just enough to run Tera...)

And using Windows 7 64-bit so it can't be that. I don't really have such fps problems in pretty much any game, but this :/ I'm just getting the feeling that this game is very badly optimized, which is a shame because I kinda like it. Low fps is killing my experience though.

  • Thank you, now I can't run the game -_-

  • Hi, i've been playing for 2 months now with awfull freezes in instance / BG, game dropping to 3 fps during dungeons, so i tried ur fix and it didn't work :(
config : running on a laptop MSI GE70
    CPU : Intel® Core™ i5-3210M (2,5 GHz)
    GPU : Nvidia GTX 660M
    RAM : 8GB
as u can see i have same RAM, same CPU, better GPU but i cant get more than 40 fps in town (dropping to -10 sometimes)

    Help !

  • Guys, i have one solution for everyone with big screens.(!!)
I had resolution 1920 - 1080 (the biggest my screen can use).
Around 15-20 fps, on lowest details.
I changed for 1776 - 1000. (it's still big one, you just have little black frame around Tera, nothing really noticable)
Now i have 30-40 fps on almost the highest details.

    Check for yourself!

  • Check your video drivers, try to use those recommended by your notebooks manufacturer.
Than check if TERA is using your Nvidia card with Nvidia inspector.
When you've done both and will still get crappy fps you might realize how bad this games performance is.

    I like what I do - I do what I like

  • Are u telling me that no matter what I do to fix my client, I'll never get decent FPS, even though i have nearly the same config as the OP ?
I'll give it a try anyway

  • You will get decent FPS ... in towns or while questing at any time it doesn't matter. But when you need the performace, like in MC HM, you are buttfucked.

    I like what I do - I do what I like

  • I found the nvidia drivers recommanded by msi on their website and installed them (296.31). Game is much better, getting 30-40 fps in dungeons fighting bams, the problem is in BG i still have crappy fps, around 15 in fights :s.
I just dont understand how the OP can have 30fps in BG...

  • It's getting worse every patch. Getting 5-10fps in fights at BG. Same fps while tanking the dragon boss at NT.
It's possible that at the time of writing it was indeed possible for OP to have 30 fps in BG. Before performance was ruined with patches we've had since now. Patches that added nothing to the game's graphics but for some reason still almost halved my fps.

And as before playing without UI enabled gives 2x or even 3x more fps.

  • U guys funny if U think your topic helps any one because they don't about FPs in game... because this game is crap optimization if Game force would want fix it they could done it long ago but ofc they don't wont. I got actually myself very good pc and internet conection and my FPs are around 50-60FPs when doing LoT , when I am at Nexus they like 20-15 , this game just got no optimization

Stop sulking and fix it yourself, it's way too easy!

Ever thought about backing up? Your own damn fault idiot!

  • It`s just annoying when some got 50-60+ fps in pretty laggy places and yet they complain about it, and keep repeating "OMG WTF THIS GAME SUCKS ! ! !", I mean seriously, be grateful that you got such a PC to handle it and gives you that fps, I play with 25-35 fps sometimes it goes up to 45 in empty areas, and in nexus it goes down to 5-10 fps, but in general it`s good because I don`t have a superior PC, also I got it, no one bought it for me!

In most modern MMOs main cities most crowded places with players bottleneck CPUs and make people move with 20fps or less.
50fps in such crowded place is damn smooth xDDDD

  • When i choose windowed[fullscreen]mode my window is not full size but its like 1280x720 window mode.its the modified S1Engines fault because it didnt happen before i replace it.Is there a line in the engine file that i have to change in order to work?Plz help:)

  • Upgraded from:
    AMD phenom II x4 955 3,2ghz
    Radeon 6850
    8gb ram

    to:
    i5-3570K (3,9ghz turbo)
    MSI Radeon 7850 OC
    8gb ram

and now I'm getting really smooth gameplay everywhere. No lag in bgs either. Also all settings maxed out <3. I think CPU makes really big difference in this game.

  • Well im Playing on a I5 2500k @ 3,5GHZ
    Radeon 7870 GHZ Edition
    16GB RAM 1600MHZ

and i have still to play on preset 1 for Bg's and even then i have shitty FPS in the middle fight with much people(I Play mostly without UI in BG's because of this)

  • Do you guys play in full screen or windowed mode? I noticed I get better FPS in full screen, which is a huge help since my computer is pretty old and weak and I already lag like hell ._.

I'm talking about the true full screen not the one that says (Windowed)

Disadvantage being that game crashes about 1/10 when tabbing out, at least for me.

  • is it okay Tera uses only 1.3 gb ram?
