New PvE server, server queue priority system & chat filter

  • @ ALL who answered to my post.

All of you dont even know the marketing rules...only see tip of the nose "WE VETERANS"...
This game is biznes and that king of approach to the potential customer is shoot in the feet. Yes favorize "THAT VETERANS" and after a wile there will be only veterans (let's be honest, only handfull, thats why you take decission to go f2p) and after that shut down the serwers.

When game goes the f2p there will be sooo many new players to try and quene will be enormous, that will hardly not conducive to try the game that i propably buy (in my case after i see what endgame show----then start real mmo and the exact game), if that take place then there will be no more new players and stay only handfull of "WE VETERANS" who will be not enough to run the serwers, only model for this game is f2p with payment options without favorizing.
Players who want a try simply leave it at loong quene, not even consider buying it.

    @Yuue and tike Kicho
In my first post in this thread I was concerned about the veterans higher quene (guys who already decided to buy the game only) not the Tera club users (they are some kind of donators, different case), i have nothing against they high priority in the quene because They do not count, only few of those so no impact on quene (f2p decisions=so few subscribers) :p

    P.S.
My opinion is not only for my problem with the quene in the "trying process", i think the game will be fun for me but will see, if game will be fun for me then i wanna big and healthy community, doing that kind of "favoring" is not good thing in making big community...

  • Veterans have been paying subscription until now.

Most of us will end up paying for TERA club aswell, so they are favoring paying customers over those who pay none, i don't see the problem here.

i don't see the problem here.

If there will be favorizing in the quene (we now have nearly full serwers, let's se after f2p launch---more advertisement etc.) then you will se the problem that i personally do not wish to any tera player.

Enough space for everyone (even potential players) and there will be no need of any kind of favorizing, it may cost (every biznes need money till they bring earnings) but with good title (Tera) in f2p model this is good behavior for users and GF for sure.

  • This doesn't really solve the issues with doing PvE if you're on either of the PvP servers - I don't understand why you don't throw either Freya or this new EN PvE server in the PvP server realm pool...

  • Regarding chat filtering I agree with most people posting here.

I don't like the fact that chat filtering is now affecting private channels such as guild channel.

And I can't understand why words like damn or pissed or even panties have been censored.

Damn and pissed aren't even insults and they are really common words and panties... well that's just fun.

Ass is of course censored as well. Yesterday I wanted to use the expression "a pain in the ass" in guild channel and I got surprised to see ass was censored. It's a common expression and ass is a 'normal' word as well. It's not swearing.

It seems to me that chat filtering has become much more strict since yesterday and I don't really understand why. I think that word list should be checked.

Should there still be words that you think shouldn't be filtered, or others that you'd say need to be censored, feel free to make a new list, and we will do our best to improve our filter even more!

And considering we don't know what words are in that list (not all of them) I think it would be quite hard for us to provide you with a comprehensive list.

  • It's a good business decision.

Though I prefer having better spec servers/network. The problem of now is that server is still laggy, not as bad as before but it's still laggy. In the same time, we have less people online because of the queue, f2p players are already part of us. Some of them are our guildmates already.

  • I can't understand why you want swear words in some channels and not in others?

12-year olds, if they join a guild, would be in just as much danger as in Global, disabled.

    You guys are confusing me...

Permanent enable, enable and disable button FOR ALL CHANNELS is what I want...

    Please...Gameforge...please...disable at the LEAST. :O

  • activating or deactivating option on the filter seems to be the best solution.
also the idea of only setting it on global/trade/area chat was a good thing.
i would be happy with both xD but a chat filter not able to be deactivated and present on all channels seems to be totaly crap to me. besides some 12 years old have sex already these days and in all types on tv shows are so much bad words xD kids these days dont give a fuck about bad words they already got known to all of them when they are 10.

    WTB Rainbow Haircolor <3

  • I don't like this chat filter I think it went overboard.

You guys even censored "damn"? What the hell...

Couldn't type it no matter how I tried... da.mn, d a m n, and so on... in a way it made me look bad because I couldn't even explain what I wanted to say and I can't believe that's censored same as the other nastier words with 4 letters :|

  • An option to turn the filter on/off would be in place .. =]

    +1
because everytime when I type something in my language (and it's not even swearing) half of it is censored. Most annoying thing ever.

We'll further introduce a server queue priority system for our veteran players. Everyone who purchased either the Standard or Collector's Edition is counted as a veteran user. Those users will have priority when a server queue will be active. This will help our most trusted players to enjoy TERA even more.

    Good action point

  • I started on Fraya with a few friends a couple weeks ago. At that point we didn't know when the game would go F2P, when there would be a new server opening if any etc. What do you think about offering the "new" non-60 Fraya people to move to the new server? it would be a win-win. Less crowded Fraya for its veteran players, and the opportunity to start on a fresh server for those that picked Fraya very recently, not having any other alternative at the time.

    Thoughts ?

I'd like this to be offered since Frata could do with less players (lags).
But in your case I recommend to just start over on veritas. Lvling up does not take that long especially if you do it with friends and haven't reached 60 yet anyway. You probably just use the time you save by having no server queue.

  • We have no queue, we bought the game. And yes, losing a couple 40'ish chars is no big deal but still...

It would still be a win-win to offer that service.

stop censor wisper / guild / party ... or mage a switch censor on / off

  • Hi, Ive been having issue with logging in.

The queu time says 20 minutes but ive been waiting for 2 hours. And sometimes the queue number goes up instead of going down? how can that be?

Is there any prioritising with free-players or veteran or club members in the login queue?

    /CASS

  • This game seems to have a lot of eletists when it comes to "I paid for the game, I deserve more than you".

Yes, you did indeed pay for the game, however, without the f2p players, the game would slowly be dying. There are other ways to provide benefits then punishing new players through server queues.

As a potential customer, I feel like I should be treated as one. It's not fair to be 60 in queue, then being pushed back up to 90.

  • I apreciate the priority queue system, but would be nice if the game server could remember your ip or login id or something for a few minutes after a disconnection or a crash to avoid being put back in the bottom of the queue.
