I lost my character name after the server merge, is there a way to get it back?
Yes, our support department can investigate the matter. Whether or not you will be able to get your old name back depends on certain aspects, such as character level and if you pre-ordered the game or not.
What factors determine if I can send in a ticket for a name change?
In order to be eligible for a name change, you need to meet the following criteria:
- The character must have hit level 30 or above before the server merge
- The character must officially have held the name at the time of the server merge
- Your account must have been active before the server merge
What criteria will be used to determine who will receive a certain character name in the end?
The following factors will be used in the order listed below:
- Did you pre-order TERA?
- Date when the character with the specific name you want to get back was created
- Total playtime of the character prior to the server merge
I want to contact the support and try to get my old name back, what steps do I have to take?
Be sure that you meet the criteria mentioned above, if so, please follow these steps:

The ticket to our support needs to include the following details:
- Current character name
- Character name you want to get back
- Server you are now playing on
- Server your character was previously on
How long do I need to wait until I hear back from support?
This will greatly depend on the workload we receive regarding name change inquiries.
What happens if someone else has the same name and sends their inquiry to support at a later date, will I lose my name again?
To prevent this situation, we are going to collect all name change support inquiries within the mentioned timeframe and our support department will work through the list after the 28th of November 2012 at 23:59 CET.
What about guild names?
If you run into issues with your guild name, the guild leader can also get in contact with our support. The same criteria will apply as for the character name change mentioned earlier.
Is there a deadline for filing support tickets?
Yes, there is a deadline. You can file support tickets concerning this issue until the 28th of November 2012 at 23:59 CET. Please note that we won’t be able to work on any tickets regarding name changes sent in after this date.
