Event: Enjoy Halloween and grab some great prizes

  • Every year the inhabitants of TERA celebrate a special Halloween Party in the Eldritch Academy, but there are rumours that the party goods might get stolen this year. Your task will be to protect the party goods and ensure that this year’s Halloween party will be a huge success.

There are also rumours about a scary fellow called Jack O’-Lantern, who has been seen on several occasions lately. It is very likely that this strange fellow is up for something, so you better prepare to calm him down by providing enough Sweet Pumpking Pies to him.

    Timeframe of Event:

The event will launch on Thursday, 18th of October at 12:00 CEST und will run until Friday, 2nd of November at 12:00 CET.

    Dungeon

    • Level Minimum to participate: 10
    • Group size: 1-3 member(s)
    • Repeatable: up to 5 times per day
    • Objective: Mount a canon and attack the thieves and protect the party goods. You have to protect the objective against 5 waves of enemies in order to complete the quest.
    • Additional Info: After the 5 waves have been cleared a 5 minute timer will show up, you can use the additional time to kill even more monsters for additional points. Those points are needed in order to get your hands on the special achievements. Please note: The different monster types provide a different amount of points.

How can I access this quest?

    • Talk to event NPC “Ellonia”, in any village to teleport to the event grounds (Eldritch Academy).
    • Players can also obtain the Pies in the open world from enemies and BAMs, the drop chance for normal mobs is not very high though. The chance to get them from BAMs is a lot higher.
    • Speak with the event NPC “Titiana” to receive your quest to enter the dungeon (Harvest Festival Hall).
    • Speak with event NPC “Serena” in order to begin the event dungeon.
    • Upon clearing the dungeon, use the teleportal to return to the Eldritch Academy.
    • Speak with “Titiana” again to receive your event reward.
    • Speak with event NPC “Beryn” to teleport back to the village.

    Open World

    • No limitation, active everywhere besides the Island of Dawn

    Steps:

    • Players obtain “Sweet Pumpking Pie” items by completing the Halloween Dungeon Quest.
    • Players are encouraged to throw the Pies at the Jack O’-Lantern NPC after which he will drop a Halloween Candy Basket as a reward.
    • Players are free to throw as many “Sweet Pumpking Pies” as they have.
    • The NPC is roaming around in the open world of TERA.

A maximum of 10 Pies can be earned per day through the dungeon quest.

Rewards for Halloween Cake (Dungeon) and Candy Basket (Open World):

If you participate at both events, you can look forward to some great rewards. For example a unique mount, called the Boneshaker is available as a reward from the Halloween Cake, if you get lucky. You can also look forward to obtaining some great charms, scrolls and Alkahest during your dungeon journey.

If you make Jack O’-Lantern happy you might get your hands on some of the following rewards: Packleader Wolf Mask, Fresh Pumpkin Mask, Famished Skeleton Mask, Firesnap and Firecracker String, Smilecracker, different Potions, Scrolls and much more.

    Special Event Achievements:

Together with the Halloween event we’ll also introduce two special achievements. If you throw enough Sweet Pumpking Pies at Jack O’-Lantern you’ll receive the achievement “Easy as Pie”. If you reach a very high score in the Dungeon you’ll get another great achievement.

So what are you waiting for? Grab your gear and your friends and enjoy the Halloween Event in TERA. Oh and if you get lucky and get one of the Boneshaker mounts, be sure to drop a screenshot in our forums or post it on Twitter!

    Happy Halloween!

  • i'd love to be optimistic about this event, but after last events i must ask, is drop rate 1% or whole 2% this time?

  • Is Ellonia spawning randomly in one village or she should be simultaneously in every one of them

She's a curious little witch and can be at every place at the same time. ;)

  • can you enter the dungeon 5 times per character or 5 times per account per day?
im a little confused, it says you can get the mount from the halloween cake but youre supposed to throw the cake at jack-o-lantern? @_@?

  • pls resubscribe guize :( look dis event so no u resub ok?

  • Hooo!

Now this sounds like a real event! And THAT mount ! Jesus I know what I'll do this weekend !!

    On a more serious note.

You better not put RNG into that event.

  • I hope this mount is a bit more than just another pipe dream. The last one was so rare almost no one got it. I never saw it on the Velik server.

  • My hallowen glasses disappeared after equipping it on the ruby rims :S

  • yeay! some awkward skins for awkward mounts as well... yeay!

......The One you love to hate......

10/31/2011 - Final day of Flawless Shojin, best of luck.

Final day of glorious CM "Silvanoshi" and CR "Sealath", best of luck to both of you

    who's next?

  • So currently it seems to work like this :

You do 5 runs of the instance per day. Each run rewards you with 1 Cake and 2 Pies via the repeatable quest. You can't actually get any drops within the instance itself, purely just complete the quest. You then go to any village/town and throw your 10 pies at Jack O Lanterns, each one turning into a Halloween basket.

So per day for this event : 5 Cakes and 10 Baskets, per character. Each seems to be an "egg" with random loot in.

It's very very fast to do the instance for the quest completion, 5 waves takes no time to kill and seems soloable. The baskets and cakes basically contain all sorts of random stuff akin to previous events. I've ended up with scrolls, panacea, greater charms etc. No idea what the drop rate is of the fun halloween stuff.

If you have a party of 3 though you can stay on for a bonus 5 minutes afterwards to shoot more waves, and if you score 20,000 points you can get an achievement and Dracoloth mask. However, it seems pure RNG whether you can get the 20,000, as the mobs that spawn are random each time and one type of mob is worth 2500 (phantom knights). Unless I'm wrong and you can get more points by killing things in certain ways, it seems that it's an RNG roll on whether the instance spawns 20,000 points worth of mobs for this phase. You get nothing at all if you get under 20,000 points, and it seems that if you get 20,000 you get the achievement and never need to do that bit again.

So that's what it is right now, it seems - from a "what loot you get" perspective it's really no different to the other hunt-the-mobs events, but it's capped at 5 Cakes and 10 baskets per day for 5 runs, rather than forcing you to farm for hours and hours. The instance is pretty and fun and different though, at least!

The key element to how well this event goes down will be the drop chance of that mount/hats in the Cake/Baskets...

It's disappointing. The event itself is cool, nice to see a new little instance, and I always loved the atmosphere/music around the Academy. But yep, pure RNG. And this time, it's RNG with a cap of rolls (15 eggs per day) so you can't even nolife it to try and beat the low RNG chances.

I'm no fan of "that other big MMO" but whenever it did events the vast majority of the cool stuff you could get was bought with tokens that you earned from taking part. Why can't Tera follow suit? Reward a halloween token for each instance completed instead of 3 random eggs, and then have a vendor where you can BUY helmets/mounts etc.

It's all well and good saying that a mount needs to be rare to keep it special, but I'd rather it was rare due to the cannon event taking a huge amount of -skill- and only 1% of the playerbase being good enough at firing the cannons to earn the mount, rather than who got lucky.

  • If one person already have gotten a mount, I believe it seems to be a pretty decent chance.
Compared to the previous one that took all servers a good amount of time before it first made an appearance.
