TERA’s achievement system: Unlocking player potential
When playing MMO games, the main aim of players is to level their character by completing quests whilst obtaining the best items they can along the way, with the ultimate goal of creating their desired character. The experience found in TERA enriches and develops this basic principle of MMO gaming, by offering an achievement system that not only offers unique challenges during character development, but also rewards players in various unforeseen ways. The wide variety of achievement types means that exploring, questing, and engaging in PvP or even being involved in TERA’s in-game society can all lead to acquiring achievements.
Featured Race: Amani
With their ancestors being mighty Dragons, the Amani (ah-MAH-nee) have inherited their predecessor’s fearsome stature and reptilian features. After the enslavement of their race by the Giants and their respite by the Goddess Kaia and the Castanics, the Amani have placed the notion of freedom above everything else. As a result, Amani are naturally reluctant to trust strangers, but once you have it, it shall be yours without question. Damaging Amani trust is something which you really shouldn’t do. The Amani are an honest race that often comes across as blunt or outspoken, as can be seen by their common exclamation “They aren’t gonna stab themselves!”

Featured Class: Lancer
If you need someone to break up enemy formations, look no further than the Lancer. With abilities like Lance Charge and Onslaught, the Lancer can spearhead into the enemy, smashing opposition defenses. Powerful combo attacks and the ability to boost party defense means the Lancer is a force to be reckoned with. Lancers become perfect group players by being able to lower enemy defense, as well as draw aggro to themselves, leaving the enemies ready to be picked off by the rest of the group. It is safe to say that the Lancer can be regarded as the “Immovable object” in the TERA world.
